Try directly off an error and a conversion hitting the post really tells you how much is going against us today. Hurts in the long run. We need to find a way out of our end. Simple hit ups are safe but aren’t doing much. Remember we beat them in the finals last year by being unorthodox and catching them off guard. Saw a little more of that style on the set where we scored at the end.

It’s a high quality game and the Dogs have brought their best in the rushing defence, which is controlling territory. We’ve been very good, missing less tackles than Canterbury. 18/21 completions from us is excellent.

My only concern is the Dogs have a clear tactic of shifting the ball around to get out of yardage and it’s working. The only way to offset this, is to be more aggressive and less passive in defence. I can see the middles are getting up hard but once the ball gets outside them, the edges are back-pedalling. We need to get up on the edges and turn them back inside.

Dogs should be 20 ahead with all that territory and ball. Brave effort so far Manly. Got to turn that field position and possession around. We can score on them if we get it down there.

Dogs basically been perfect and still can barely get across our line. We go in first in the 2nd and they will be packing it (no pun intended). The dogs just don’t seem to threaten with the ball. Plenty of chances and really not much to show. Certainly a finals type game tho so scoring a bit harder to come by.
