Game Day: Bulldogs V Manly [Finals Week 1, 2024]

Well Game day is finally here, best of luck may the best team win. It should be an absolute cracker, I’ll be wearing the 1995 Premiership jersey as seen below by the the LEGEND himself Terry Lamb, the last time we met the Sea Eagles in a final was 2014 knocking them out on Snakes 200th in golden point - this is a rivalry game in my opinion and everything is on the line for both teams. Heading out with some old school Manly mates to sink many beers before can’t wait.

Really important game for a few of our bigger name players today. Obviously it's Brooks' first ever finals game but Tom has only played 4 finals matches before for just one win. Jake only has 2 wins from 6 and DCE only 2 from 8 in over 10 years since the 2013 GF.

It's the last bloke there that needs to step up the most. He kicked well in the last Bulldogs game but that means nothing for today, he's been very quiet since Origin and just terrible defensively. The fact is we still look pretty lost without Tommy and we don't know what version of him we'll get today with his injury, so it would be nice if the Queensland and Australian halfback can lead the side around the park rather than being indecisive and avoiding contact at all costs...

I feel for your, mate. I was actually supporting the Lions and ecstatic with that escape… however, it was tempered by the loss for my Hawkies the previous night. Are any of the other three Giants fans Manly supporters by any chance?

Win or lose, overall a pleasing season from the team. Won more than we lost (lost a few we should have won), embraced new players (Talau and Hopoate come to mind), sad to see some go (Lawton!), the social media team have been great again, and of course fantastic to see so many sold out matches at home.

• Huge crowd playing away from home
• Turbo on one arm
• DCE random rushing defence which was found out last week
• Sloppy terrible and slow hooker play
• a center that’s not a center playing center that can’t defend
• Bulldogs know what we will bring after we beat them a few weeks back and will adjust

So we will be out the back door as sad as that sounds, We don’t have the game for finals football, “give it to tom” doesn’t work in these games , You need to play fast direct and go forward in these big matches and we have far to much sideways in our game.

I should be agreeing with you but this is an absolute bunch of rubbish, with that sort of attitude you should watch at home and not wear the jersey. Back your team thick and thin…that’s what seperate the real fans from the pretenders. Give yourself a slap across the face and fire up for a big game of footy

It worries me too, though at least it won't be as galeforce at Homebush as it is here on the coast. Nonetheless Burton's bombs could definitely be problematic.

I feel we have a bit more in us than to finish the season today but we have to put our best foot forward, or more to the point, our best defence has to turn up and be sustained for 80 minutes.

So disappointed I couldn't get tickets in a Manly area on Monday and hoping I get through this safely and come out a winner.
