Bulldogs fire sale

No thanks.

He is a joke. Has played alright for the last month I must admit but only because they want to move him on.

If we could get him for about $150K might be OK, thats what he is on at the Dogs for 2017. He just extended until 2020.

Surely not? He couldn't be on 150k?
He's well worth that, even a fair swag more.

I thought Hoppa Jnr was finished as a top footballer having watched him struggle since he left his Missionary position, but yesterday he showed he still has plenty of ability. So it seems when he is really committed - such as playing for a contract or really disliking Illawarra - he is very good.
The only reason I'd like him here is because he is a Manly junior and the more of those the better.

And his Dad's a legend!

What a funny thread. It is about players being pushed out by the Bulldogs and only players mentioned are the ones staying. oh well. The only player that we could discuss (and likely reject) is Mbye, that is if Warriors take Green on an extended contract (2 or 3 years).

The Bulldogs will realise sooner or later that they won't be the ones to decide who stays and who goes. When everyone has said no to those they want to leave they will have to offer up those they want to keep. Same thing happened to us in the aftermarth of the Des backended contracts saga.

Understandably, everyone wants Klemmer or Jackson (neither will leave).

I'd happy take back William Hopoate at the right price.

He can cover most backline positions (even five eighth, I'd suggest) and still oozes class. He was by the far the best yesterday for Dogs.

A much better player than Kelly / Parker / Wright / even Jorge.

Not the fastest, but would offer a lot at the right price.
He's just a bit too inconsistent and precious for my liking. Granted though he was superb last night but where's it been all season.

Mbye and Lichaa ...

I'll give you a moment to stop laughing ...

Ok ... now that Des has well and truly destroyed any spark or natural talent out of them their market value would be bottom dollar.

I just saw Lichaa "run" from dummy half and looked awesome! He hasn't done it all year and would have been told not to by talent Destroyer Hasler. That's cool, but the talent is still there laying idol. He would make a superb 30 minute player (14) should we lose fan favourite Lewis Brown.

Mbye, not terrible. Just sign him and make the dogs pay most of his $750k contract to the end of 2020 and laugh at them implode. Maybe even develops the guy to be closer to his game breaking best which got him that price tag?

I like this.....

Lichaa had big wraps on him when he was at Cronulla then it fizzled into nothing. Ennis went the opposite way and was very good at Cronulla. Seems like Des doesn't want his 9's to play what's in front of them and just tackle and get the ball out.

Lichaa would be cheap and agree an interchange with Api would be fantastic

As far as Hopoate Mk.II goes, he could be handy as a backline utility, but IMO he is not the gun player he was when he was at Manly so definitely wouldn't be my first choice.

Personally I think we more need a good front rower to replace BJ (like Klemmer) before we need to go chasing backline players who haven't shown much in the past few years.
