Buhrer

1978

Reserve Grader
Would love to see Jamie back at Manly next year, albeit at a discounted rate.

Always thought his best position was bench utility (14), covering hooker/backrow if needed.

If Api goes, Buhrer could be handy on our bench next year.

Great club man, great experience (particularly if Thompson goes) and still a solid player.

Shouldn't he be earmarked for the Toronto Wolfpack, GE?

Nah. Just waiting on some real salary cap pressure to get some bargains. Knocking on the ole dogs and St george door! I wonder if Api likes snow?

(edit, I have no idea. Though I would take Buhrer at Toronto, most probably.)

PS: No Toronto game last weekend, hence no write up.

I was thinking of same thing re Jamie. He would have to come cheap. Not sure if he has finished his studies yet. We could/should only afford him at a much reduced rate ($150k range).

We cant afford to buy someone for experience.

The money would be much better spent on a couple of young guys who have been around for a while looking for a final chance.

A Shane Rodney or Glenn Hall etc

This sounds like shades of re-signing Hodko again.
Buhrer was a good player and great clubman but that ship sailed many moons ago.

Wish him all the luck in the world, but no way would I be signing him. Barrett actually did really well out of the Buhrer-Uate swap.

I hear Dale Shearer has given Des a call and has let him know that he's fit and available if needed.....

Sorry but while Ferris was good in his time at Manly, realistically now his best shot at playing more in first grade than reserve grade is probably at one of the lower ranked teams like the Titans.
