    The reason why Brookie won't get federal money is simple really.  The Federal Minister who allocates and signs of from the development slush fund or whatever it's called, where this money comes from, is Anthony Albanese.  He's a tragic Souths supporter, was on their board pre Russell days, and a Manly hater.  Our man in Canberra, Sibra, is from the right of the party and Albanese from the left.  Why would a left wing federal minister pour money into a liberal area to support a team that he hates.

    Maybe we should send Tony Williams around to his place and have a quiet chat to him - that is the way slush funds work ie to buy favours.  He can do us a favour by giving us $10 mill and we will do him a favour by ensuring he can eat steak for month instead of soup through a straw.

    I'm sure it doesn't help that the Minister for Sport and Rec (Kate Ellis) is an Adelaide girl. She's unlikely to have even seen a game of rugby league as she a passionate pro-AFL pusher like everyone else from that state...
