Brian Kelly - A Winner

I have to say Uate is a different player with that shaved head and in maroon.

Tafua was great again today.

But I think we need to find a space for Parker on the wing next year.

Injuries will sort things out but it's nice to see the backline firing without any pressure on our depth. I recorded the two lead up games on fox will be interested to watch them later. Early start tomorrow. Hoping to get a few coral trout.

Good luck and best wishes to all in thebtownsville area hope Debbie is kind to you but brings heaps of rain.

Sorry to interrupt with football, but BK3 and the Doorman have transformed (for better or worse) our entire backline attacking strategy.

Gone are the sweeping backline line plays with the fullback chiming in to add 4/5 variations. Because both are centres (more BK3 than Doorman)that Baz sees as line or gap runners, as opposed to draw and pass players, so our halves are taking the ball to the line more often, and looking to pop a pass.

The truth of this has been the absolute dirth (a dirth I tell you) of tries scored by our wingers this year. Not saying they won't score tries, but gone are the opportunities they got outside Lyon and Matai.

PSS ( Good Lord, Lyon even put T-Rex over for 20 meat pies)

To be fair, Dylan Walker does add in sweeping backline moves...they only involve him though, does that count?

My comments aren't a criticism, just an observation of a different style.

My comments are a criticism - even in a great performance, there were still far too many of the 'Dylan Walker goes sideline to sideline' moves. He doesn't seem to get that sometimes he just needs to tuck the ball under his arm and run at the defenders in front of him.

There's no way Lyon passed the ball 20 times in his career!!
The wolf played origin and international football because he was fortunate enough to land a gig outside killer. He was fast and powerful and a great competitor and clubman/character but I would have loved to seen how Robbo went outside Lyon.
