love this blokes effort. I’ll own up I had to google where he had come from
Then I saw the photo of him at the roosters and remembered his debut.

I think it’s safe to say this bloke isn’t the fastest or most naturally talented footballer in the game. But I think there wouldn’t be many players in the comp that would be the fella for effort. The guy is all heart. The way he chased Oates down when the game was gone and saved a try it was one of the highlights of the night. I hope when Tom comes back Des can keep Elliot in the 17.

I haven’t seen a player get rag-dolled around weekly as often as Brendan Elliot since Brett Hodgson retired from the Tigers.
Just like Hodgson, Elliot is all heart

He’s done a great job diffusing bombs and cleaning up kicks at the back and he seemed to grow more confident by the end of the second half last night.
After watching Suli jumper grab Corey Oates last night I hope Elliott is considered ahead of Suli if we get our full squad back. Suli’s tackle was embarrassing for a 1st grade player even if he brought down Oates eventually. It was yuck..

He's another Matt Wright. Safe and slow. He'll do the job but wont win you games. Have to give him the thumbs up though with some of his efforts at full back that saved our bacon over the last couple of weeks. Good to hold as a back up player.

Agreed he has no x factor but he is solid and has done better then we all expected.. i think when we have a full team he will be out.

Totally disagree. Parker and Elliott are better than fatboi Suli at centre.

Since when i elliot a center? Hes a winger and he trained at fb in the off season. Parker maybe but suli is a beast and just needs more early ball and one on one situations. Hes a game breaker if we use him right. Parker is solid i like the guy hes done very well for us, but imo suli is a better meter eater and has x factor. Upto dessy boy though isnt it. We shall revisit this some time soon

Even though Elliot’s positional play in both attack and defence isn’t great I agree he tries his ass off every game we are lucky to have him as cover for Tom

If you remember a few weeks back, Des sacked Suli and replaced him with Elliott.

And yet, as much as the effort from Elliot has been there and he's been fairly solid at fullback, when Turbo comes back, and with Walker and Jorge likely to be back next week....is there a place for him in the 17 at the end of the day?

I get the feeling that despite that he's been good for the most part, Elliot will be one of those who ends up back in Blacktown colours.

I can't see Garrick or Parker being dropped at this stage, and when Turbo is fit he won't be playing fullback. Elliot might be the odd-man out unfortunately, the usual #19 or 20 on the Tuesday and Thursday team lists. His best bet might be the utility bench spot, but right now that is being taken up by the 1-2 dummy half punch with Fainu off the bench.

He's a lot quicker than Wright. Wright wouldn't have chased down Oates in open space.

Suli has the potential to be better than Parker, but Parker is playing better at the moment and has done all year.
