Breaking: Kevin Proctor in Strife In Canberra

He hasn't been charged yet.

Possibly won't be, from the article I read. Old mate who's appeared in court today is the dealer, he was observed 'preparing' the nose candy for Bromwich and Proctor, who then snorted it. Can't really get them for possession once it's ingested, can't get them for dealing...you'd think ASADA might've wanted to do some targeted testing though!

Even though they weren't charged - surely the NRL Integrity Unit would be drug testing them first thing this morning when told about it.

They'll come up with some piss poor reason not to. because if you do a couple... you should be doing anyone else from the team who was there... and I'd dare say the results wouldn't be pleasant. Highly doubt it was just the two of them. Players have worked out the drug testing patterns, probably a gap from playing until the next training session where something might be sprung on them.. so rep round... becomes rack round!

I'm just a simple ol redneck hillbilly mountain man, but geez this cocaine stuff must be good, for all these jokers are prepared to lose for it 😕

Probably also has a lot to do with how quickly it's out of your system, obviously why there's been all the *activity* this week, while most players have the bye or time off after their rep commitments.

Humans have been finding ways to get off their chops since time immemorial...I can see several advantages in using coke over alcohol, for example, if you're an athlete. Doesn't affect whatever dietary regime you might have, gives you a nice buzz pretty damn fast (no need to drink for hours), no trace of it left in your system after 24-48 hours. I've heard some people have horrible comedowns from it, never experienced that myself - you can sleep it off/work it off pretty easily if you're not one of the unlucky ones.

The downside is it's ridiculously expensive - which is why it's known as the drug of choice for doctors, lawyers, CEOs...cashed up footy players

Thanks @yokahontas, that makes sense. Well not sense in using, but why they might dabble!

Bad week for the NRL brand.

Domestic Violence court date for Semi, the 'redemption' of Packer who almost stomped a man to death, now the revelation of drugs from the back office to the field 😎

Unfortunately the view of outsiders is that League is a sport of thugs 😕

Greenturd had better stop the rot before Sponsors get cold feet :lightbulb:

Also why it's not part of the drug swab roadside tests... even though the current testing system can show up traces of cocaine as it does amphetamines and cannabis. Can't have the "upper end" of society getting caught DUI like the rest of us peasants..
