Bozo

Brown can **** off, when he gets there he can **** off again following his form of ****ing off until he comes back here, then he can **** off again

So, what your saying, if I'm getting this right, is you think Brown can **** off? You were just sending mixed messages there ...

I know this will draw the wrath and ire of many here, but contrary to public belief, I think Lewis Brown has done exceptionally well given his time on field and role (THIS year).

I, like the rest of you were on his case all last year BUT, Brown copped it all ways last year, sometimes being swapped into 3 different positions in just one game.

Roll on 2017, and he hasn't done too badly.

He's a crisp passer from dummy half, and tackles ......reasonably well.

What I don't get is how both he and Hastings can get chosen together.

I'm guessing it's one as a forward cover and the other as a backs cover.

To me we can't afford that, you either have 3 Boppers and Hastings or 3 and Brown ( who isn't that great as a back).

You just answered your own question, the reason they both get picked is because brown can cover the back row incase one of them gets injured or just needs a spell, which still gives baz the option of using hastings to releive api at hooker whilst still having a continguincy plan for our halves incase somthing goes wrong.

I like Brown and Hastings on the bench, it sacrifices a little size but it's brilliant for injury cover.

Brown can be used as an interchange second rower, or a backup hooker if one of the backs goes down.

Hastings can be used as the interchange hooker, or a cover for any position in the backline if a back goes down.

It's a really versatile combination, and means that the other two bench spots can be taken up by big props.

Having said that though, I hope Brown loses his spot on the bench when Lussick is back from injury.

Which raises an interesting question around the utility role - at this point would you keep Brown in there as he can fill hooker, back row or centres or Hastings who can fill in at hooker, halves and the backs?
Hastings can fill all those backline positions + hooker effectively (I think most of us assume) Brown can really only be a decent hooker and semi decent backrower DEF not a centre!

One will have to go - I'm with you if u had to split em Brown gets the flick. Hastings has lots of upside I reckon

On the original point I'd still say the outrage at the way the club is being run is justified.

Success on the field is not the only marker of success, or not one that can be taken in isolation anyway.
Who's to say that a side containing the players inexplicably let go and coached by Tooves (or an equally as appealing option) could not be playing equally as well, or better?

If we had Gutho in place of Kelly, Buhrer in place of Sirro, Parcell in place of Api, Api in place of Brown and Tooves in place of Barrett, wouldn't the team look stronger? Or at least equally as strong with a more Manly style about it?
Was it essential that anyone involved in the previous administration was let go? Did we need to derail a good shot at both minor and major premierships in 2014 to get to this current, wonderous state of 2 from 4?

It's not just about Bozo, it's the whole lot of them. The attempted dissolution of the FC, 70 years of history being cast aside on the whim of an ego. The increased demands on fans to become "members" of a private company whose own representatives have an open contempt for them.

Keep the criticism flowing until they do as they're told, I say.
As I always say, they have not bought the "rights" to anything, they have bought responsibilities.

Some interesting stuff from Readingtheplay on twitter.

Thoughts?

Ding dong the Witches are dead! Stand by for some big announcements at Manly over coming wks & mths, with Penns & Cleary taking full control

The ego driven interfering meddlers’ are now finally silenced – and will exit Brookvale over coming wks and mths via varying excuses…..

Barrett was given complete control of playing group 4 wks ago, have always said he can coach, now has clean air to do so
