Been around for a few years but I hadn't read them before, just got a bunch from the local library.
Locke & Key by Joe Hill.
Comic book style series, I've just read books 1 to 6 and actually had a highly gruesome nightmare one night. Impressive imagination and features great artwork.

It’s a other chapter in the Jack West Jr series.

I prefer the Scarecrow ones personally but I guess multiple hero’s allows more scope

Certainly liked the scarecrow ones.

And as you've read them all

I thought the crossover between the two went better than I thought it would.

there's a couple of free downloads on his site as well

One tells the story about how Jack got the fireman's helmet

and the other is kinda a prequel to the two mountains book.

Both short stories

I really liked one of his 'stand alone' books "Temple" as well.

Conquest is another one

Locke and Key Comic Book

Just got War Lord by Bernard Cornwell, volume 13 of his Last Kingdom series, this is the last one :(......the other twelve were great. The Netflix series is only up to around book 6 and while I enjoyed it I enjoyed the books far more.....I visualised Uhtred as a rampaging barbarian covered in blood with veins between his teeth, what Netflix gave us was a sensitive new age barbarian with a nice hairstyle .

Reading Paul Theroux's third volume of essays at the moment Figures in a Landscape, his previous volumes being Sunrise with Seamonsters (1984) and Fresh Air Fiend (2001). Theroux is a great writer, though I must admit I prefer his non-fiction works. I've been a big fan of Theroux ever since reading The Great Railway Bazaar in the '70s.

John le Carré, spy novelist who chronicled Cold War espionage, dies at 89

John le Carré, the spy-turned-novelist whose elegant and intricate narratives defined the Cold War espionage thriller and brought acclaim to a genre critics had once ignored, has died. He was 89.

Le Carré's literary agency, Curtis Brown, said Sunday that the author died in Cornwall, southwest England, on Saturday after a short illness. The death was not related to COVID-19.

In such classics as The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and The Honourable Schoolboy, Le Carré combined terse but lyrical prose with the kind of complexity expected in literary fiction.

The thinking mans Ian Fleming.

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold is the only book I genuinely read for my HSC. I might dust it off over Christmas for old time's sake.

I'm reading Obama's 'A Promised Land' at the moment, and it makes for a nice change from the 45th. Irrespective of how effective or ineffective Obama was when President, I think he genuinely wanted to serve others and 'do good'. It helps that he isn't a narcissistic sociopath...

Great man , fabulous orator , extremely popular but got **** all done !!

Trump is ( was) a prick but his list of things done far outweighs Barrack.

Biden will have the same issues as he doesn’t control their senate : congress ( whatever it is over there ).

But I agree , Obama is an outstanding human !!
