I am sorry if I am going to sound arrogant here but do you know how a CEO works? Mestrov would be responsible for overall health and performance of the club but wouldl not be overly involved in the football side of things. He would set a budget (which is the cap) that his people would work with

Mestrov by name and Mediocre by Nature
He is another budget buy from Penn and you get what you Pay for

Surely a decision like this though (whether to retain a long-serving player at 36yo) would be elevated above the head of recruitment @lsz

I dunno, maybe it does fall completely on Gentle’s shoulders, but I would have thought that even the press associated with losing your long-standing captain (and arguably the face of your organisation) would qualify the situation for elevation to the CEO and, likely, owner…

Although when the team is individually announced/introduced before the game, I won’t be clapping for DCE. I won’t boo either. If our players play like headless chooks it will be because of the divisional impact that our Management has created breaking Club spirit and not only dividing us fans on this forum but also our players .
Good negotiators do not escalate things. They keep things transparent and harmonious and most of all in House and not turn it into a Gossip tv circus
Just because deals cannot be reached they dont have to be turned into late night tv Drama
But this takes form from people that are capable of being great diplomatic negotiators
Our Godfather was never like this when he was CEO. He always had negotiations under control and this is why he was the best

Regardless, DCE has been prone to having headless chook games and he is inviting boos from the crowd on Sunday if he produces another one. The management aren’t out there on the field. it’s the players. Having said that, I actually have faith that the team can pull together and that this is a much bigger deal in the media than it is in the dressing room. We shall see. A good performance on Sunday will go along way to shutting the media up.

Leaving or not, he loves Manly, I think he'll do his best to win another flag for us before he go. It'll be all forgotten and stamp himself as one of Manly legends. He wasn't offer anything, and thought that he's getting old and didn't want to take $$dollars away from Manly to sign players and future youngsters. So instead he'll go get big $$cash somewhere else and look after his 4 girls future. We haven't won **** it's not all his fault, takes the whole team to win a premiership. We've some shocking team over the years and injuries didn't help but he was the only one that played the most game then anyone else.

My blood is Maroon and loved all the players. DCE is not even my favorite player I'm just sticking up for one of us. Wish him well go make millions, lose games play **** for them against us retired rich$$.
