I was at that game that was disgusting especially knowing the poor kids of the parra fans where probably going without food because of it, leaving them with only enough money for the essentials like ciggies, booze and pokies money as a result.

Yes I will blame Mestrov because he is accountable for the changes he made
Since Mestrov sacked Fulton who recruited all our current juniors who became Stars like Haumole , and Koula
The new bloke he hired has not lived up to that standard
As for Mestrov the CEO his job is to be a great Negotiator
We have recently seen just how Great he is

Re Fulton yes there have been some good players but you also need to include some of the others that cost the club. That is the nature of recruiting kids like we have to without a strong local base (like the panther etc have)

If you take the time to read and understand what is going on I am not overly sure the club actually wanted to / thought they could retain him. Now I understand if that is a reason to be upset but you are kidding yourself if you think Mestrov was the person making that decision

Good post, however I do not recall it being an ‘open secret’ months in advance, that Fulton was leaving.

My recollection is that the Roosters’ offered him a deal just before or after the 1976 GF. It was then announced (from memory) sometime before the October long weekend. In those days, the latter was two weeks after the grand final.

It was a bit of a letdown at the time, so soon after a premiership victory. I liken it to Hasler’s 2011 defection.

They have been in the role for a year and in that time we have seen Walsh, Large (smoking Joe is best placed to talk about it but there is a thread just for this Juniors Discussion Thread ). Also apart from the DCE thing we have been pretty much on the front foot with every other player - look here News

I am sorry if I am going to sound arrogant here but do you know how a CEO works? Mestrov would be responsible for overall health and performance of the club but wouldl not be overly involved in the football side of things. He would set a budget (which is the cap) that his people would work with
