Boo hooing DCE is not the way forward

To Boo DCE starting this Sunday is not the way to go....in fact I reckon Eels fans will enjoy it, but I have high doubts the other Manly players will appreciate it.
Still wearing the Seaeagles emblem, he is still part of Manly in 2025 and "IF" he is in opposition colours in 2026, that's the time to boo and jeer.
Right now he is still a Seaeagle and we are talking about a situation that does "not effect" this 2025 team....more the 2026 team....so when saying the season is derailed it's not, this squad can make a serious challenge this season, but the quickest way to derail it is fans turning on the players/team....."players/team is 1".
There are some interesting things coming out about how this situation played out and until it's 100% clear, maybe best to save opinions that may well change.
Yes there has been some odd history involving certain players in similar situations, but the same scenario, that was then - this is 2025....gotta stay positive and keep rolling, opposition fans and madia love to see Manly carnage, especially the fact the side looks very competitive this season, well I'm not giving them a leg up.
I know there will be many to still be blowing up deluxe and no doubt still be loud on their thoughts and that's fine, but personally I'm simply going to support this Manly team in 2025 and every player who is out there.
We all say NO PLAYER is bigger than the club, but unfortunately the media and fans seem to be making it exactly that at this time, which is pretty sad really.
If DCE plays poor or seems disinterested, that's another story, but I reckon he is too professional for that caper, my tip is DCE has a blinder and Silvertails will get on with simply supporting him and the team for this season after the Eels clash this Sunday .....in 2026 - well that's another story - from another book.....

The Brookie crowd pay their money to click through the turnstile so they can applaud, stay silent or boo DCE. It’s an individual thing. If DCE keeps playing well and showing 100% commitment over the coming weeks he may get some of the boo crowd to change their actions…

Agree.
We are not Parramatta!!!
Hope DCE does a Ron Gibbs

Agree with the sentiment @maxta and thank-you for saying it.

It may be unlikely that he will escape the booing as all it takes is a small few to start it, but if I was a player (other than DCE) I would be far more motivated to perform if the fans were unwavering in their support. Yes we support the club, but its the players that ultimately get the results - and pay the penalty in the absence of them.

If it is actually a dropped ball by Manly's Corporate and Club management - which we don't even know right now - then booing DCE is like accepting the Manly Club version of events without question. As any player, I would feel pretty deflated by fans that ignore my version of events and side with Big Corporate, who have the safety of Media Maangement and Coporate Affairs arms focus-grouping the most acceptable lines to trot out which paint the club in the best possible light.

It's not like the club doesn't have a recent history of trying to manage the optics of questionable Head-office actions, like Pride Jerseygate...
Cheer the boys, they'll need it this weekend. A loss to winless Parra - at home - will definitiely trigger much more 'season derailed' stories in the parasitic media. A crushing win though will limit the damage the media can claim has been done to the team on the whole.

Mate I don’t care if DCE is leaving & like you I will support the team. I’m only pi$$ed off because the club is being blamed. DCE has history in this regard. The way this has been handled is pi$$ poor. He shouldn’t have said anything on TV. He & the club should have kept it in house & advised the players of his decision not the whole world! To come out 3 weeks into the season sux & could derail the season no matter how hard he tries to be professional. No doubt this will affect the playing group…..how I’m not sure. It could completely fu<k our season or it could galvanise the team to send him out with a Premiership. DCE should remember he didn’t make Manly!!! Manly made him. Manly paid him big dollars for a long time & lost / sacrificed many juniors coz of the salary cap situation. At his age he’s a great mentor for our future halves but not worth outlaying huge dollars for again at the risk of losing Walsh, Large & Cullen. Sad to see him go this way but business is business & the club should not have to bend over backwards to appease his requirements. In fact he should be grateful that the club turned him into the player he was but no longer really is. He has a burning desire to continue playing & play Origin……good on him but at the expense of Manly’s future no way! If he goes to another club so be it. Whether he’s the same player at another club so be it. The club offered him a fair amount to resign & also guaranteed a coaching position after his retirement. Whatever has happened to cause this $hit fight is something no one really knows. Not the fu<king journos, media or any other so called experts like Anasta, Read, Crawley etc. I’m not taking sides per se but am pi$$ed that the team is caught in the middle! Just when I thought 2025 was gonna be a good year! Maybe still will, maybe not but my support for the team will not diminish.
