Blow up the bunker

This bunker gets the benefit of 50 slow motion replays....25 different angles....and after seeing the Penrith player knock it 1 metre forward to a team mate - it's still a green light ??
My 8 year old daughter called it on the first replay...then 5 minutes later, they give this a try ??
The defence owned Penrith all night bar Tamou stretching over for an unlikely try, so the kicks were the only option...after 20 minutes defending your try line and cop that call is a disgrace...worst yet - this bunker like coaches and players should front a media conference to explain this rubbish and become accountable.

It's seriously so inconsistent it's laughable. I would normally enjoy to watch the afternoon game on Sunday, but after last night, I really can't be stuffed, because NRL has turned into and absolute stitch up, has no integrity, and no credibility or accountability.

There is no point in having a video ref when it only gets things correct 50% of the time. I've always opposed it, although I acknowledge that it will be used as long as we have such microscopic television scrutiny.
There are so many things wrong with video refereeing:
1. It can only rule on certain aspects of a try. Not being able to rule on blatant forward passes is a joke.
2. It can't rule on a try if an incident happened earlier in the tackle count.
3. Slow-mo vision distorts real action. All action should be view in actual speed.

Also, go back to one ref, and give the linespeople more responsibility to make decisions.

How about making the refs actually listen to them? We all remember the 2014 Semi against the Dogs when Reynolds was miles offside during golden point and you could clearly hear the touchie telling the ref that he was offside, yet the ref (Gerard Sutton) chose to completely ignore it and allowed him to attempt to tackle Snake who was attempting a field goal. That decision to ignore the touchies call of a blatant offside basically cost us our season.

The bunker is as useless as tits on a bull!! The bleeding obvious decisions are still errors by some of them, the games officials have so had their decisions outsourced that they are not brave enough to make calls. There is no accountability for errors and games are often decided more by official rather than the players. We ned professional referees and we need accountability!!

Laughably, I got a call this morning from someone who said the Penrith second try was awarded because the bunker couldn't rule on a forward pass?
What a joke. They reckon because both jumped for the ball at the same time they treat it as a pass? Maybe we should get a sample from the bunker personnel!

And also the penalty late in the second half which resulted in a goal because the dummy half through the ball into the player on the ground...I asked where was the consistency siting the game the night earlier. He mentioned that they heard a play on call at the play the ball so he had no idea why the penalty was called as the refs were told to watch out for milking penalties and that the players had a responsibility to continue play.

I'm still shaking my head that if an official makes comments like this, what chance of we, never mind the players, of being able to understand interpretations from game to game in the same week never mind week to week.

On a final rant, what made me cranky most last night that the ref demands respect by the captains, and clearly DCE was respectful, but the referee didn't reciprocate and was totally dismissive. The fact that he told DCE that Manly were dreadful, which clearly demonstrates his anti Manly / looking to give Penrith a penalty as opposed to looking impartially at each event. There was no fairness or equality. He should be back refereeing park football - he is not at NRL level.

Parl level? He's not even at backyard level.

Ok, they can't rule on a forward pass? Then disallow it for either the accidental offside, or the knock-on then! Zimples!

Couldn't have picked a better Sunday to find something else to do with the Bulldogs v Knights Blockbuster on lol

Blow up the bunker, lol, the Bulldog fans wanted to blow up Belmore at one stage this afternoon!!

That would make a much bigger bang.

Well, surprise, surprise. Archer has come out and said the bunker got the decision right. lol

Which means it was an officially sanctioned 'correct' decision, i.e. got it right.
If it was a mistake, and went against the official requirement, then punishment would have been the order of the day.
These guys know, follow the 'tip sheets' or look for another job.

When decisions go to the bunker they should put a small screen or the inside of the bunker so we know that the people in the bunker aren't receiving phone calls to influence their decisions!

The English super league used to have a camera behind the two ref's as they spoke through their decision making process. totally transparent!

Also.... Captains challenges should be brought in asap. Denying such a basic thing to implement rules correctly further enhances the nrl's well deserved reputation for lack of transparency.

Archer has come out said that is was a simultaneous catch between the two Panthers players so no knock on.
That's fine if it is the way it's interpreted but this is where we as fans blow up - the video ref didn't say anything like that when the video was rolling.
If he had said it was a "simultaneous catch and therefore no knock on or accidental offside so I have a decision and going to the board" then we'd all be a little less antsy!
