Hopefully we copped our lot early with Ox, Beaver & Matai. Fingers crossed that that's our lot while all the others struggle.

I think Manly has been pretty well off over the past few years with injuries, a number of team seem to have more than 5 players out at a time.

Gallen should also get at least 1-2 weeks for his headbutt.

If those two are out then we will never get a better chance to beat the shire scum than this week.

BIRD INJURY ADDS TO SHARKS WOES

Sharks State of Origin five eighth Greg Bird has broken his thumb and is set to add his name to the club's mounting injury toll.

Bird will visit a specialist on Monday, with x-rays expected to reveal a break to his left thumb, with the injury in all likelihood set to rule him out for the remainder of the season.

The injury to Bird comes at the worst possible time for the Sharks who are currently without star playmakers Brett Kimmorley and Adam Dykes.

The Sharks are now in something of an injury crisis, with Kimmorley out for up to eight weeks, Brett Kearney continues to battle a quad muslce problem, while Adam Dykes could also be missing for another couple of weeks with an injury similar to Kearney's.

Added to that, improving front rower Jacob Selmes dislocated his knee in the loss to the Roosters last night and faces an extended peroid out of the game, while Luke Covell, Ben Ross, Cameron Ciraldo and Dustin Cooper were all unavailable for the Sharks on Saturday night. Ross and Ciraldo were suspended, Cooper suffered a foot injury which cut short his season dramtically short back in round three, while Covell is hopeful of a return in round 20 when the Sharks face the Broncos.

Coach Ricky Stuart will assess his troops on Monday morning as he attempts to put a side on the field for the important clash with Manly on Friday night.

Since we moved to Narabeen and put in top level care and conditioning. Other clubs (eg Drag Queens) only have themselves to blame for the high level off strain injuries they cop.

No Gimmemorely, no Dykes, no Bird, no Covell, no Kearney and possibly no Gallen. If we can't flog the Sharks by 50 next week we need to be swabbed.

This is a golden opportunity to erase the memory of that Return to the 70's debacle a couple of seasons back. The whole team should be made to watch that tape this week, with strict instructions that we are to return the favour this weekend. If we can put 30 on the Tigers, we can put 60 on the Gummies.

Looking forward to Matai v Missy Takeitupthapoopa. Two angry ants who'll hopefully butt heads at some stage (figuratively not literally)

I was at Shark Park for that "history making" flogging 2 years back. We haven't had a victory out there for over 18 years. No better opportunity than next Friday , courtesy of a few injuries to key Sharkies players.

Not sure if it's been mentioned , but : Manly's round # 23 clash with South Sydney ( Homebush Hares ) has been scheduled for Monday August 20 @ Telstra Stadium.

Great to hear their tool, Bird, is out, although I'd love to see someone completely break him in two.....legally. Pity about our own tool, Stevie Wonder. Hewould hae had a field day running through their crap backline. How he must hate himself. 21 years! I find that impossible to believe.
