Big Bash v NRL ( entertainment value),

I scored 12 not out last week.....in the backyard.....against some neighbour's using the garbo as a bin.
Then realised there was a Manly / Dogs game from 2006 on foxtel & watched that.
Playing muck about games at a bbq/drinks is fun, but the game itself, though appreciate needs certain skills.....& patience.....just doesn't excite me.

The BBL is fun but I'm getting a bit over it after about 4 weeks.
It can't be compared to the NRL. It's more like the 9's.
After the Sydney test being rained out, I feel short changed for test cricket this year, and at only 5 or 6 matches, I generally feel short changed for test cricket every year.
We need two 5 game series per year at home.

I think the NRL needs to look to the NFL if it wants a re-think. Short, uninterrupted season at full tilt. The rep footy and other distractions can take place at seasons end to pad the footy season out to its current duration.

Making the game family oriented is not the answer. You have the 9's to get the kids in. Just like cricket does with 20/20. Motorsport is doing it with those stadium jump trucks.
These things are all well and good as a marketing exercise but they can't be allowed to take the focus away from the serious stuff.

Can't compare to the greatest game of all, but any sport that is void of Greenberg gets my tick of approval. I went to 6ers v Heat on Sunday night and was entertaining.
