I know we have another thread about this but I thought I'd start a more current one.Reading a story in today's Sunday Telegraph in regards to Sam Ayoub sticking up for Brad Murray saying that once it all comes out everyone will realise it's a storm in a tea cup. The story also said that police were looking for a bloke who went into five different locations placing bets, changing his clothes each time.Final note in the story was that ", under NRL rules players are not able to bet on games."They might be pleading innocent at this stage but seriously- how stupid do they think the general public are????
As was pointed out by Manly Backer in a previous thread- the whole thing stinks to high heaven. Not wanting to comment too much on all the other blatantly obvious facts concerning this story and the fact that there are clearly other guilty parties involved- Murray should be punted from the NRL for placing a bet on an NRL game-for sure and certain.I hope more of these morons get found out and I hope this stops ridiculous bets like this being taken ever again- it is a massive slight on our great game.A lot of the general public and news outlets had Brett Stewart hung dried and quartered with bugger all hard evidence. We have had the evidence in this story from the start!

Looks like Parramatta have finally signed a half back since Sterling retired that can influence a game

That is a bit harsh on Stu Galbraith

Stu is in pretty illustrious company.

Parramatta halfbacks since Peter Sterling:

1.Jason Bell 1992 5
2. Stu Galbraith 1992-94 38
3. Tulsen Tollett 1993-94 12
4. Chris Lawler 1994-97 27
5. Keith Blackett 1994 1
6. John Frare 1994 3
7. Gary Freeman 1996 21
8. John Simon 1997-98 41
9. David Penna 1998-2000 38
10. Troy Pezet 1998 2
11. Ben Kusto 1999-2002 14
12. PJ Marsh 2000-01 14
13. Jason Taylor 2001 26
14. Andrew McFadden 2002 17
15. Adam Dykes 2002-04 11

after 14 years of painfully supporting the eels that list does bring back horrible memories. Jeremy Smith....god he was so bad that I think I got cancer at one of his matchs at Parra. Tim Smith, I was the only Parra fan who booed him whenever he came on, guess I was right all along.
