One more special team - leading try scorers by position. Pretty handy team by any measure

1. B Stewart (163)
2. T Mooney (83)
3. R Fulton (129)
4. S Matai (91)
5. J Taufua (80)
6. J Lyon (86) / C Lyons (80) *
7. D Hasler (72)
8. R. Bull (25)
9. M Krilich (32)
10 T Randall (21)** / B Hamilton (19)
11. S Menzies (151)
12. A Watmough (71)
13. G Stewart (27)

* Killer 86 tries just edges Cliffy with 80 although Cliffy played more 6 than Jamie did so take your pick
** Igor played prop and second row so not sure on split of tries per position

[Bench would be Cliffy, Wombat, Hoppa and Robbo as next 4 highest try scorers not to make run on]

Should include other local juniors who did well too , Dave Ronson and Adam Cutbertson . The former playing in the 87 G f win and the latter was on the bench for Manly [ i think ] in the 2007 play off against the cheating Storm .

Nigglers ???!!!! and you've left out Tezza ??? He was the king of getting a rise from his opponent

- don't worry just noticed he is on bench, must have missed him first time around

Travis Burns was another that springs to mind - just loved giving it that little extra to annoy someone.

Tezza couldn't play at the moment with Covid-19 around. You needed a towel if he got anywhere near your face.

Born into it in 1999, but as mentioned in the other thread, a 2005 game v Tigers stands out for me as one of my earliest memories! Don't have as many players to choose from, but luckily we have been very successful in my time, so I think I can come up with a good side!

Yep I forgot Boyd. He might bump zorba to the bench. But zorba would be important to get under the skin of the opposition.

yep also tezza to bump choppy to the bench.

Scott Fulton stays because of his penchant for throwing the ball hard at the opposition players when a penalty is blown.

Ron Gibbs should be there too.
I’d expect 4 or 5 sin bins or send offs every game.

Why don't you ask us to do something hard ? Bloody hell. Every time you think of one great player, you think of another.

I became a Manly fan after watching the '72 Grand Final. No mean feat given I grew up in the heart of Whingeing Worm territory.

I'll give this a crack anyway.

Fullback - So many great choices. Graham Eadie, Matthew Ridge, Brett Stewart, Tommy Turbo. But I have to give it to Eadie. By a struck match to Snake.

Wing - I never saw Ken Irvine or he would have walked into one spot. I'm going to cheat and put Turbo on one wing. Some good candidates for the second wing spot. Tom Mooney, Kerry Boustead, Russell Gartner, Craig Hancock. But I'm going to cheat again and use Snake.

Centres - Killer and Bozo. That is all.

Five eighth - A few good choices here. Cliffy, Alan Thompson, Foz. Could even throw Tooves in as I'm sure he played some 6 for Manly. But I can't leave Cliffy out. He's just too good.

Half - Again, heaps of candidates. Phil Blake, Johnny Gibbs, Dessie, Tooves, Orford, DCE. But, maybe somewhat controversially for some, I'm going to choose DCE on the back of his kicking game.

Lock - I'm going to go with Mal Reilly. The best Pom to ever play for Manly when you consider Phil Lowe and Kevin Ward, it's a fair wrap.

Second Row - This is tough. Igor, Beaver, Jake, Choc, Crusher, Phil Lowe, Gift, Les Boyd, Fatty....(Not to mention the Irish International James Hasson @:D ). I'm going to have to go with Igor and Jake. I can't believe I'm leaving Beaver and Gift out.

Prop - Who the hell do you choose from Spud, AFB, Cement, Roberts, John Harvey, Jason King, Kitey, Josh Perry, Marty, Kevin Ward ?.......I'm going to have to go with Spud and Ian Roberts. Just unparalleled toughness.

Hooker - I never saw Fred Jones. Despite having the option of Ballin, Serdaris or Ray Brown....I can't go past Thrower.

So in the wash up, my 17 would be,

1. Graham Eadie
2. Tom Trbojevic
3. Jamie Lyon
4. Bob Fulton
5. Brett Stewart
6. Cliff Lyons
7. Daly Cherry-Evans
8. Ian Roberts
9. Max Krillich
10. Mark Carroll
11. Terry Randall
12. Jake Trbojevic
13. Mal Reilly

14. Geoff Toovey
15. Glenn Stewart
16. Brent Kite
17. Steve Menzies

Coach : Hasler (would they really need one ? Bloody hell....fair side)

1: Graham Eadie
2: Tom Mooney
3: Jamie Lyon
4: Bob Fulton
5: Michael O'Connor
6: Cliff Lyons
7: Geoff Toovey
8. Ian Roberts
9: Max Krillich
10: Terry Randall
11: Anthony Watmough
12: Steve Menzies
13: Ben Kennedy

Reserves
14: Brett Stewart
15: David Gillespie

17: Nick Kosef/Alan Thompson

18. Tommy Turbo
