Spot on with CW and LM, look like world beaters when the ball bounces their way but crumble under adversity.
Sadly I expect the NRL will make sure they run downhill all year. Remember SBurge stiff arming Scorpio while the Refs twiddled their thumbs and looked for some Sea Eagle to penalise. That’s the standard of referring we’ll see in most Bunnies games this year.

I seriously hope that the Homebush Hares come unstuck big time. They are laughing at the rest of us. I hope the NRL get inundated from clubs wanting to retire injured players and get maximum compensation now that this precedent that the Vermin have now twice been rewarded now applies for ALL clubs!

It won’t , if we apply it will be knocked back.

Medical retirements are only for Toddy’s favourites

You'd have to say yeah Bunnies have the best backline in the comp but that forward pack is pretty ordinary. Those backs wont get too much room to run a muck behind that forward pack
Reminds me of Manly 2015.
We had a gun side in the backs and a very average forward pack and missed the 8

Agreed
More a case of throw it wide to allow a chance for Mitchell and co to beat a man with solo brilliance ...which also means playing lateral and easier to defend.
Teams with go forward who can blow up the ruck decide the modern game...not sold, apart from Cam Murray-and Cook, the Souths pack is even top 8....

You know, there was a reason why the Chooks went hard after James Tedesco. It was because they realised that Mitchell could not handle the workload required to be an elite fullback.

Mitchell is talented, don't get me wrong. But he is more suited to centre than fullback and I think Souffs will find that out if they play him there. A Turbo or Tedesco or RTS ... i.e. one of the elite fullbacks in the NRL, he is not.

Inconsistant halves and Mitchell will be found out at fullback. I like our Backline thanks . Dce , Walker , Tommy , Garrick have enough x factor in them to be the best .

We have a top 3 roster quality backline, and at least match the bunnies, chooks and others (I personally feel out do them).

If I had to choose a backline (1-7) from players around the NRL and not just the Manly backline, I'd go this way:

James Tedesco
Josh Addo-Carr
Tom Trbojevic
Latrell Mitchell
Daniel Tupou
Luke Keary
Daly Cherry-Evans

I'd love to pick Turbo at fullback, but right now you'd have to have both he and Tedesco there and since Tom can play centre equally as well and Tedesco is just a fullback.....kinda like when Rowdy was forced to play wing or centre for the Kangaroos and Queensland because there was Garry Jack and Gary Belcher as fullbacks. Rowdy's best position was at the back, but he could play anywhere while Jack and Belcher were specialist #1's.

Manly backs at least matched if not slightly outplayed the Bunnies backs in that knock out semi last season . With Mitchel joining them and Tom returning , probably status quo [ or Manly even with a slight edge ] for a future . comparison . Elliot , Hoppa , Funa ,[ young Metcafle can be a worthwhile replacement for Elgey ] as depth , Manly "s backline for 2020 is right up there

Foward packs win comps.
And a very solid defensive unit in the forwards and backs . Not too sure how much better defensively Manly were last season statistically but one would think heaps better and to maintain it this year hopefully .

I hate to believe it but Souffs have now exceeded the Rorters with the greatest backline talent in the NRL: They have:
Adam Reynolds
Cody Walker
Latreen Mitchell
James Roberts
Dane Gagai
Braidon Burns
Campbell Graham
Adam Doueihi, and
Alex Johnston....
Anyone care to nominate a better squad of backs?

I like our backs and most of all I like how Des can get them to play with resilience when they have their backs to the wall .
No player in the Souths team is superior to our Tom Turbo who can win a match on his own .
I am looking forward to seeing our backs further improve and keep over achieving and surprising .
Games are also won in the forwards and this season we appear to have a lethal pack

Actually potentially Manly have close to the best back line if some of the young stars flower.

Tom T
Albert Hoppa
Suli
Walker/Ben T
Garrett
Schuster
Cherry Evans

That's a potential backline that within a year or so could explode.
