Ben Barba

It's a personal choice how each of us feel about violence against females and not MY decision who we hire or sack buddy, but if he punched a girl in the face he's a f$$k no for me too.

How do YOU personally feel about full-grown men punching females in the face?

I don't condone violence at all. Period.

Nate Myles was also apparently a good friend of D C E and that hardly resulted in a good outcome for Manly and not really a great criteria guide . Barber would not be returning to the N R L on a minimum contract also and taking into account the make up of Manly "s present playing group and Barber "s checkered past , can not really see any wisdom or justification in bringing him into the Manly ranks now

The fact that we are talking about Barba returning to NRL via Manly means that he will be allowed back, but signed by Rorters, Brisbane or Melbourne or whoever else - NOT us. Like Carney, like Moylan, like Pearce. We'll still be awaiting resolution of the salary cap issue, and probably still be waiting till 2023.

Everyone we have spoken about goes elsewhere! If I was at the races with my fellow Silvertails, I'd get everyone's opinion (including my own), then cross them out of my list of chances.

Putting aside all the character issues which are no doubt valid....

On playing ability he is a speed player who is about to hit 29 this season ...he's one bad injury away from near retirement. If he wants to comeback to the NRL he'd better make it soon. He may be some use to us this year BUT next year or later I'd be saying thanks but no thanks.

What would Barbas price be? 600k? I think we still have 2 spots to fill as it stands with 800k to spend. We may also promote Suli before June 30 and will count towards the cap.
Was there also a rumour that we are going to move on a player to the ESL?

I wonder how he would go working with DCE more of a ball runner than organizer. I cant believe he is only 26. Seems to have been around for ages.
He was a gun junior that made his debut very young but has had off-field issues at times.

He did show at the Titans that he can run a team around the park. It's just that most game managers are not overly flashy. Because Kelly can be super electric, he is thought of as strictly a runner, but he can certainly direct the attack. It's a question that is definitely worth asking though.

I don't know how many people saw the Hull vs St Merge match in the pre-season but he scored one hell of a try that day...he still has that blistering speed.
