Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I should have said Gould just wanted Barrett, the hell out of his Panthers club at the time and sold him off with Bullsh1t to the most stupid gullible club, strange enough he ended up with us……go figure……
Phil knew Bozo was a sucker for a handsome face.

Phil had no worries on that front. He’s got a face only his mother could love.

This media noise has been building a while now and the way the team has performed....indicates there is a lack of harmony and the results speak even louder.
It's unfair to play guessing games, but at the same time, anyone who feels there's no problems behind the scenes has their head in the sand.
The latest stuff about players not appreciating Seibolds "7 minute chat", shows they either don't like his opinion or they simply don't respect him, for whatever reason.
Personally I reckon Seibold or any coach should have a right to chat openly about where improvement is needed, both as an individual player, or as a team....his job is to do exactly this to get results, as he is the man in question when the scoreboard continues to favour the opposition.
Just maybe, there's other issues regarding coaching techniques, game plans, or generally being a little soft or too accepting of poor results, making players comfortable with losing games.
Personally I have had coaches ask for more of myself and team mates as a player and unless belittling a player in front of the team, I find it ridiculaous players would be upset over their boss asking for improvement or to become better in whatever aspect of the game he/she see's an issue, especially when done in private in a 1 on 1 situation which I believe was the case....I mean cop it on the chin and get better, take the challenge to better yourself and don't go whining and recruiting others about it.....wher there's smoke there's fire and it's a cancerous issue once it snowballs and it's a big question on the players integrity to get on with the job, as these issues are too easily an excuse for sub par performances like we have seen most of the season.
If they are not respecting, agreeing, or believing in Seibolds coaching ability, that's another issue, but each player owes it to the club, fans and most importantly themselves to dig the way out of this dire situation and at very least, show some guts and effort regardless of the result....that would be a good start.

The thing is, we only know what the media have said.

The media aren't averse to making stuff up or over dramatising things to sell a story.

We are all aware that things aren't right at the club due to what we've seen from the team on the field.

Everything else is just conjecture, speculation & spin from the media, based no doubt on SOME inside knowledge, with people like us then speculating & spinning off that, creating further inaccuracies.

Add to that peoples' bias (dislike Seibold, dislike DCE, dislike the Turbos, etc) & you have everyone forming opinions based on very little actual fact.

I'm waiting to see what comes of these crisis talks at the club & I'm glad they've finally not only acknowledged there is/are issues but are seemingly trying to do something about it.

The media have to write stories
The o'l saying , Never let the truth get in the way of a good story
There are issues within the club
A team in this competition need to go through with minimum issues and unfortunately Manly have had a few too many this year with injuries DCE contract , players mentally not switched on , big wins than followed by horrible losses
Some teams can manage it , Manly at the moment are not
If they can sort these out ,with it now looks like there are conversations and put a few wins together confidence builds results follow
Let's hope they can

any unrest may be because a fair few of the players know they're likely to be tapped on the shoulder shortly .... From what I have seen of Mestrov, he is highly unlikely to baulk at the hard decisions ...

Edit ... and he and Seibold have already extended all the players we most want to keep ...

Hard to know what is going on but seems to be a case of smoke and fire. There was always a thought that Seibs lived in 'leadership books' where he preached a theory on how to lead and manage high performing teams. Impressive for boards and CEOs but perhaps not so great for league players?

If the 7-minute chat thing is real, he's pulled that from somewhere and it probably has gone down like a lead balloon. All this leadership stuff falls flat if you lack the guts to make hard decisions. If the rumors are true and Jurbo / Turbo are off DCE, that probably needs to be addressed prior to any 7-minute chat.

Reading he will drop Croker and Saab for next match. Fair calls. When does he look to the future and drop cherry....

It'd take more than 7mins if they sat Seibold down
Yep, no way to cover all the management/leadership mumbo jumbo and excuses in under an hour, unless someone prepares some PowerPoint slides beforehand. And even then we would need some breakout sessions to drill down on key areas of focus.

Not wishing to be that guy, but do we really need another thread covering very similar ground? Wasn’t there an amalgamated thread somewhere?
Probably was, but I don't read every thread and live on here, obviously a few do like the 'Dee Why Eagle" @:smirk: , just thought this was a pretty key factor in the divisions going on between players and coach and worth bringing up - oh damn, I just posted instead of starting a new thread

Sorry Maxta but I agree with Brookie.

Your defence of "not reading every thread" shows a disrespect for the time of the people who come to this forum. You're just repeating what they've already read. Not cool
