3 times we've started as favourites, 3 times we've lost. Including twice by a thrashing at home.
Yet 3 times as underdogs we've won impressively.
Could be wrong but I see that as an inexperience thing, not so much individual players but as a team. Clearly Manly has ability, but becoming consistent might take a while. How annoying!

I think it was just one of those days, against the eels it was too early for the side to put together an attacking performance however defensively showed determination, against the bunnies and dragons we had shockers mentally which although disappointing is a byproduct of playing early on in the season. Consistency will continue to develop especially with such a young side led by Taupau, Dce, Green, Lawrence, Lussick etc. Nothing went right today, only one way to make up for it and that's a win over the storm next week

Same issues in not being able to effectively slow the play the ball and offloads as last week and previous games.

More work has to be done in this area "group tackle technique" and structure wise leading into the tackle, Dragons players made a concerted effort to get down face forward and not being flipped over and our lack of focus on wrapping up the ball during the contact stages is not good enough.(way too many offloads)

Sometimes it is better to dance and get tangled with the tackled player in an upright decision(upright wrestle) than hitting the ground early and peeling off.

Too many slow lack of speed or straightness go forward with no leg speed in our pack, just trundling forward lacking direct intent.

The game was over after the first few sets, Dragons defensive line speed and go forward advantage were evident from the first sets.

Manly over the past few years always look poor on heavy slow tracks at Brookie compared to other grounds that accentuates our lack of speed and leg drive in the forwards.

Can't rely on the back four generating the majority of our go forward momentum, the forwards need to add spark and consistent directness through
the middle also.

Tom's attitude needs to step up(drops his head too easily) along with not over complicating the execution of the final pass after the ball work has been done on his inside. (Keep it simple for now and back himself with directness and passing short, his passing lacks composed maturity which will come with time---although his passing has never been great)

Agree with this whole-heartedly. It seemed blatantly obvious to me watching the game today, the difference in the group tackling and controlling momentum and speed of play the ball.

Starting as favourite doesn't stop Winx. Maybe we should get Chris Waller in to coach.
