To be fair I think Barrett is unwittingly trashing himself with that laundry list of piss poor excuses.

He is mentally weak, as the team’s performances and his list of excuses comprehensively demonstrate before Penn or Zorba even open their mouths.

To be fair it has taken him 3 years of sucking it up and saying nothing ..... and to be fair I am certain he couldn't give a stuff about having to clean the gym ... and they are NOT excuses ... simply points in how unprofessional the joint is ..

and to be fair he didn't make any excuses ,,, he told them privately on several occasions to provide the promised resources .... and when they didn't he handed in his resignation ... also privately ..

It was the Zorba and Penn junta tactics that went public and got their PR machine into gear to again trash the character of any opposing voice. .... and the sad thing is ... people are believing these serial spin doctors and again wish to destroy the messenger ..

.... but don't worry .... all is good .... we will be building a centre of excellence soon ... or sometime soon .... or it has been announced that we have been working tirelessly on making an announcement soon ... and did I tell you it is all Barretts fault ...

Hey Woodsie some good points and I don't agree with many of the things they've done, particularly Toovey's case. But the players you mention (not Jamie) all fell out because of Toovey's decision regarding Glenn.
Greentwit recruited De$ with $$$, then the bloke took all his staff with him. Good old legend Donny decided to stay. Siebold came from Melbourne, NRL owned and funded. He's used to the cushy life.
I totally don't agree with them trashing Max who saved us.
But Barrett is complaining about gym cleaning and garden chairs? He should have concentrated on training his team to tackle, and have more than two attacking plans instead of demanding resources. His job is to coach not to make locker rooms comfy.

The truth is in their somewhere Nicci .... I'm just not certain that Zorba and Penn have too strong a relationship with it ...

Also I said in another post that I don't believe Barrett is complaining about cleaning or chairs .... I think they were just points made off the cuff about how Mickey Mouse the place is in comparison to well run clubs ...

Agreed.

Manly in earlier golden eras was always regarded as a professionally run, well-resourced club.

There is a lesson in there for the current owners.

Barrett being useless doesn't make the ghastly Penn and Appendage vaguely decent people.

The different issues are Barrett's coaching record ... and is the club well run and resourced .....

Barrett's poor coaching record does not make him a liar or a man of poor character ..... in this regard I simply suggest that Penn and Zorba have him covered with past form ...

It is important for a coach not to be one of the boys. My opinion is that Trent loved being part of a team set-up, and moved into coaching because he missed being a player.

What they did to Toovey was appalling, but you never heard him whinge about it. That’s my point.

Don't know Happily, but you recall the contract extension was a drawn out process ..... possibly he was promised that certain things would be implemented and when 6 weeks later they hadn't been he said your taking the piss, enough ..... but remember he did this privately and without publicly making a statement ....

Barrett has been very deliberate in waiting to deliver this tell-all interview, so they are not just points he came up with off the cuff, these are his points.
I do agree with your comments against Penn & Zorba and I agree we look like a very poorly run organisation right now.
However I also don't think Barrett is doing himself any credit with his media expose or defence or whatever it is, and I don't see how it helps our players at all to have this stuff paraded in the media.

Barrett said several times “I can’t comment for legal reasons” (rather than just “no comment”), and somebody leaked that he was unhappy with the facilities - that’s what caused the speculation to start swirling and certain hacks banging on endlessly about our demoutables, and that’s what led Penn to come out after the Clayton’s press releases didn’t work. I’m no Penn/Zorba apologist but Barrett was the one that decided this was to be played out publicly.

Despite my love for the great man Tooves who was shafted, I've backed Trent for 3 years. He's now rubbishing the club I love, even suggesting Tom and Jake can't feel proud of the club they come from, so I'm just having a vent.
I think all Sea Eagles fans are entitled to a vent after this year.😉

Barrett is comparing apples with oranges, he came from a club that had all the resources under the sun, and this year is in line to make a 9-10 million dollar loss, which will be subsidised by their wealthy leagues club which is still prepared to throw money down the drain for them considering the lack of success over the past 15 years.
Manly on the other hand, along with SEVERAL other clubs have to work within their means. Barrett was aware of that when he was initially looking to break out in the first grade coaching ranks, and most aspiring coaches would turn a blind eye to the lack of resources just to get a coaching gig, if he didn't like our facilities initially he should have stayed as assistant coach at Penrith.
The damage he has done to our club now is immeasurable, with the help of some media outlets, we've been portrayed as a basket case, and we would now struggle to attract players who would be in demand

All this BS about facilities. We have won multiple premierships out of these facilities. Why do they keep talking about 'demountables'? We are not the only team that utliises demountables. I know this for a fact because I have designed, supplied and installed their 'demountable' training facilities.

The most recent was for the NSW Waratahs who moved out of the SFS last November and into new 'demountable' facilities at Daceyville. Look how well they went this season when they got away from their corporate style facility at the SFS. GWS are currently relocating their demountable facilities which you can see being installed next to the M7. The Eels actually hire their complete 'demountable' facility which is set up at the old sale yards in North Parramatta. I set that up in late 2015 and in the 2016 season Parramatta would have played finals football for the first time in a long time had they not got busted cheating.

So Trent can go f**k himself if he wants to blame facilities for his lack of coaching ability. This is a succesful club and we have never had multi-million dollar facilities. He was piss weak as a player compared to Toovey and he is piss weak as a coach compared to Toovey. Give him an office job at Rugby League HQ where I'm sure there will be a good coffee machine and air-conditioning for him to enjoy.
