You've got to take into account that it's the Australian selectors that pick the Churchill Medallist, so if there's no standout they're not likely to pick players that won't be in the Aussie side ie, Hornby, Young, Costigan, Creagh etc and Nightingale & Smith are Kiwis.
So with that logic is why I'm happy my $$$ were on Boyd @ $9.

It is a disgrace to footy that a bloke with a name like Darius can win best on park in a footy game !! Cliff, Brent, Geoff, Bradley etc are good, manly footy names and deserving medal winners
