All Storm points were directly from our mistakes.
Croker dropped ball early which leads to their first try.
Turbo dropped ball for a try.
Aloiai dropping the ball for a try.
4th try from a poor missed tackle by Schuster and a lucky bounce.
Chez kicking dead twice (unlucky)
Garrick throwing the ball away after a break.
Harper running out.
We can't afford to complete so poorly in these big games come semis time.
I understand there will be errors but these are all unforced errors that could very easily be avoided. We didn't deserve to win. We definitely have the game plan and team to beat them but will need to improve in our completion rate.

Funny to say that having 28pts against is a stellar defensive effort, but the 2 tries that were the difference were the Turbo miss/Garrick miss. Else we potentially win.

Our D tonight was great. Des will have measured input. Eels will be the unlucky next team up that will cop the rebound. We can hope.

Despite the errors the team competed well, the inexperienced players hopefully learn from that.

Left edge looked good in attack, got a few weeks to learn from that game.

We aren't disciplined enough to take on the Storm at their own game. We need everything to go our way and chance our arm. It didn't tonight. Too many stupid errors, and we lack that composure you need in the big games. We've got a young side and that'll come with experience.

Agreed. Probably the first high pressure game that guys like Saab, Harper, Schuster, Croker, Aloiai, Ola have played. They will be better for the experience.
A couple of unlucky penalties against the team also with the crusher tackles, unfortunate body positioning.

Storm had the 50/50 calls.

Pretty much sums it up well but at least Manly grinded away and stayed in touch. On a greasy slippery ground made more for the discipline of Melbourne than the lateral expansive play of Manly we did pretty well.(given the stats were all against us)

In saying that I have thought for a while now that our centres are not agile enough defensively creating indecision along with ample running metres and we saw a little of that tonight even if it was limited on a slippery deck.

Jake defended really well with some nice shots and slowing down the play, our big size on a dry fast track down the middle will struggle but our attack hopefully can compensate points wise on dry tracks.

Our centres are a mixed back, they are willing and put in the effort, Parker runs some great lines and Harper is always trying hard but at times it is frustrating to see their limitations and bad habits also.

You know Parker is limited to running straight lines, you know his hands are not great and will get showed up on big hits due to the predictable nature of his runs coming out of our half. Harper seems to take a while to wind up and cuts back inside too much along with that skipping running motion but in saying that they both do a job also and have their quality moments.

Defensively too often they allow attacks to get on the outside, it's fine if you have the pace to make a comfortable tackle but at times they are slow to react and make the defence overly nervous.

DCE once again was basically ineffective but will do better on a dry track.

Still a proud effort from the boys and the struggle to score points early didn't see Manly drop off and let the score get beyond us.

Good signs but we need more discipline and mental toughness at key stages to mix it with Penrith and Melb.
