its my opinion but our team is just not grown up and i dont mean young, just immature. There kind of in the toddler stage. They dont seem to be able to get the job down without dad. Our best form was mid season around the byes when they were able to plan for 2 weeks in camp like conditions and come out swinging, with access to training wheels.

Our next best win against the chooks was going poorly until dad went down to the sidelines and coached from close. They then fell in line and did the job. But dont turn your back or they will slacken off. High maintence is the term

On there own they look a rabble. No leaders. As others mention jake needs to be captain.DCE can be part of the leadership team but he is not the type of leader that inspires when we are down. He is great when he has a wet sail, but expecting him to do the smart things to get back into the grind , to earn the right to turn a game , to show patience is a wasted exercise

Ive been very consistent on this, and no offseason will change my mind

A great quote was. As soon as you have told someone how to do something a million times, start on the next million, is this team , and any coach will be really earning there dollars in repetition

I feel they really lack an on field dynamic leader.

Cherry is so presentable to the media BUT I don't see him firing up the troops.

Someone like James Graham would be perfect.

This is where snakes leadership skills would have been invaluable to Tommy T. Brett was the best fullback for directing the team around the paddock. You would always hear him barking directions to the team, telling them where they should be, but unfortunately, it wont happen

Apparently signed with st george. I would like him now that we haven't got tagatese, these past weeks have showed we need someone like him, or, as i keep saying, a Klemmer style player

Klemmer is a great forward BUT we still need an on field leader, and I'm not sure he's actually that player.

Not sure who's left, or who we might have in the wings, but a player like Graham would be perfect.

True. The thing I do like about klemmer is he's angry and leads by example, he may not be a leader from what we know although he always competes physically and is a player that I reckon could make our pack fire consistently

Baby Steps.....
This reminds me of an old comedy "What about Bob" with Bill Murray
Difference is that Manly show was a horror - but I agree with your thread....really is about getting the little things right and build from there.

Great movie. Gill was a star

Cherry ia doing a good job in my opinion but no of us really now what is said before during and after the game by cherry and other senior players. He handles the refs very well. Jake is so passionate but loses his cool sometimes especially at the refs. He has been marched a few times. Needs a bit more maturity but will be captain one day no doubt

This. Spot on, Simonmyers.

I agree that while many of us supporters love the displays of emotion from Jake he does need some growing and tweaking with his emotional control if he is to captain effectively. I also agree that he will get there and make a great captain down the track. It's a very delicate skill to lead and manage the psychological-emotional aspects of a group.
