What if it rained and no one went? They would be broke. Why couldn't the NRL foot the bill? Group 3 certainly don't have a spare few 12 grand laying around.

Would not the majority of tickets be pre-sold before game day so as to alleviate the potential financial risk that poor weather may bring?

If the interest is as high as it would appear to be from afar the game would be a sellout in any case with the majority of tickets being presold.

good point pete

mate there is quite a few Manly supporters up this way,you would also have the general public turning up for an NRL trial match and tie this in with the two sportsmans dinners and imo you would have a winner......but unfortunately the small minded, never have a go minority up here at Taree has spoken for the majority again

I am dissapointed that the match is not being played HBJ. We were looking forward to making the trip and spending a couple of days at Forster and then dropping up to Taree to watch the match.

That is where the problem lies. Group 3 is run by an ageing boys club. Rather than going back to the NRL or CRL and saying they were concerned about the costs, they carried on like a bunch of pork-chops and trid to hold the NRL to ransom.

It is only through some bloody hard work by the junior league president and Workwear House that any players are going to Taree.

The people of Taree and the surrounding areas deserve better.
