The boys now get a well earned 9 day turn around and will know going into next Sunday what the situation is for us and how much we need to do to try to avoid coming last and the spoon.
So it would be nice to see the dragons do a number on the dogs and the cowboys do a number on the eels tomorrow night.
Still think tonight we did enough to avoid the spoon only losing by 2 but time will tell.

Actually in terms of F/A it might be better for the squeels to do a number on the cows as they have 10 worse F/A. We have a 24 point buffer on the cows, so a 30-40+ win by parra should see us safe. Even a 20 point win would give us a 44 point buffer.

The only other factor is that eels have the much harder game next week.

... or you know, beat the donkeys.

Hooraaaaay.
****, what have we become.

Destiny is still in our hands, i like how the team rallied at the end but this 3 ties in 3 minutes must end or the Broncs will cook us next week.

Couple of bad calls against us but we only have our soft defence to blame in that 2nd half for letting another vital game slip away.

Monster effort required next Sunday

I agree Ryan I hate we have become like this
We should be fighting for the top8 with this squad and not where we are
I hate how now we accept such poor results as normal for this club. Not my standards at all

These players are embarrassing our culture and legacy, and don't give a ****. I know, I've seen them.out directly after embarrassing defeats.

After being at the game tonight one thing is certain. Jake needs to be captain. DCE's decision making is crap and doesn’t inspire the troops. Also we need 3 props on the bench and 1 utility and use them all. Barrett is useless in every coaching department but his bench rotation is complete ineptitude. One game to go and good riddance to Barrett. He deserves to be tarred and feathered. An abject failure on every level, about to enter coaching oblivion and to that, cheers! and hallelujah!

Yes. Only 2 pt loss.

Also, being the final game of the regular season vs Broncos we will know exactly what we need to stay off the bottom. eg. if we were down by 26-16 vs the Broncos and received a penalty infront of the sticks with 3 to go and we needed just 2 pts to avoid the spoon we would take the two.

We will avoid the spoon. The boys love Barrett and he will rev them up for the last game...

I forget the year ( but was at the game) , Terry Hill was playing.

Last game of the year and we needed to win to avoid the spoon.

It was v the Donkeys, who I think may have gone on to win the GF ( so maybe early 90’s).

AND, we beat them , oh how I remember a charging Tezza scoring in the corner for ( I think) the winning try.

I’ve probably got some of this wrong but gee wouldn’t it be ironical if the same set of circumstances faced us next week!!

We beat Brisbane in Brisbane once. We can hopefully do it again.
How many teams have we beaten twice this season?
NONE!
What are some of the 'top' sides that have beaten us twice this season?
Titans, Tigers, Knights . . .
What has Manly become?
A club that is pining its hopes on other teams losing. Pathetic!

Your memory’s getting fuzzy Mark but we’ll forgive you cos you’re old!

It was 1999, the last year before NE’s. 3rd last round and a 26 all draw after being down 8-26 with around 17 to go. We were down the ladder but finished 13th.
The Brookie crowd celebrated like it was a win after a poor season.
Brendan Reeves knocked over some great sideline conversions.

Would the 44 point buffer be enough to cover our defensive style in the first 20 mins of the 2nd half?

Yep fuzzy memory indeed BUT a great memory!!

Score line in the eels v cowboys tonight is important .... a big win by either is helpful ....
