I think our only hope was to bat through most of yesterday and get a lead of 150+. Another disappointing batting collapse has cost us any chance. The Poms will just stonewall on the last day and if the light is even a little bit dodgy they'll be off as soon as it is offered.
The only outside chance we have is a superhuman (even by his standards) effort by Warney. We really should have picked MacGill for this test to help him out.
Oh well it was good while it lasted, I just hope they keep some modicum of decorum with their celebrations. I just hope it isn't a repeat of their embarrasing effort after they won the Rugby World Cup, where Knighthoods were handed out to gear stewards and strappers, and national holidays declared. Anyone would think they hadn't won a major sporting event for 20 years or more and that they were the whipping boys of international sport.........hang on ??!!
