Arthur Sacked- Barrett now in charge of Eels

My brother-in-law is a kiwi and Warriors die hard, but he reckons that’s it … I said ‘come on board 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅’ … he said … No, he’s giving up on following his favourite sport because it’s become an ‘entertainment product’ and has lost its appeal.
I’ll see what happens next season if they start the season well …

The Warriors remind me a lot of the Cowboys in 2023. It’s hard to come off a season as overachieving underdogs that suddenly slip into the top 4.

It’s usually off the back of doing the effort areas of the game really well. The following year can feel like it’s all going to happen again and the effort slips a little. Then when the realisation comes that it’s not just going to happen, it can be too late and/or the team try too hard and errors and frustration creep in.

On top of that, the Warriors have got AFB leaving and Johnson suddenly finding injury after a career best season last year, and it’s easy to see how the wheels have fallen off.

I agree with all the posters above: the Warriors will get a press and fan hammering all week and turn up against us to Do Or Die. Seibold and the boys better expect a real tough game.

So, from a very, very good source

Manly have tried numerous times in the last 10 years to get Brad Arthur back, and there is no coincidence that the extension talks with Seibold came to a screaming halt.

Not saying that means Seibold is under extreme pressure at the moment, but Arthur has been discussed again by the powers that be, and he knows there is interest

The Cowboys have also been in touch with Arthur already

Someone said in another thread, a story that corroborates with this too. Sounds like this very much may be the case.

Was re-signing Jake Arthur for this year just insurance for the coaching staff? I think it's starting to very much look like BA and Ballin will be our coaching staff next year... Should we miss the 8, as we likely will.

Interesting. That source is still impeccable, and Arthur thought he was home and hosed with that Perth job, he was completely caught off guard when they went in another direction, and he was already involved in recruiting some Poms for them. If he did end up here wouldn’t mind a couple of pommy forwards coming

Meanwhile, Buzz Lightyennis waits in the wings:
