Armchair Owners

Our dreams come true. Penn finally fuks off and sells the club.
If you're the new owner, what 3 things do we legitimately need to take us back to a Premiership force?

1) I'd start with a clean out of certain players.
2) Then sign players on a contract that is the same for everyone. $1500 p.w. plus % of salary cap based on each players performance through out the season (to build in motivation) if they don't like that, then don't play for us. (no more free rides)
3) Then I'd put the best coaching staff & support people that I could find to help them achieve the clubs goal.

Yeah.....so firstly that would put everyones base salary below the league minimum wage, so the plan is dead on arrival.

Secondly there is a salary cap floor that has to be spent, so if enough players pergormed poorly, we'd have to dish out cash to players anyway.

Thirdly and most importantly they wont like that and they wont play for us. We'd instantly have the weakest roster in the league filled only with players who cant make the top 30 at other clubs

1 poach a super league coach that has a track record of doing great with a **** team
2 poach storm spine players and qld talent
3 ditch blacktown and have a qld cup team.

1. Recruit the Manager of the Cap at Easts. He/she is a genius.
2. Become the only club that has no sponsorship on its jersey and merchandise. Promote the concept as 'Manly Pure'.
3. Ensure I have enough money to buy a premiership and avoid bankruptcy

1. No DH policy posted on the door of both the administration offices and changerooms
2. Toovey, Ballin and Stewart’s (remain) to coach
3. Establish recruitment pathways for country league and NZ age-restriction players (we need to be identifying talent at early age and locking them in with development opportunities)

I know the last one sounds easy but if it was then we would not be in this position now…

It was just a little creative fun, the suggestions were never going to happen.
I understand how players sign to clubs (especially at Manly).
