Therefore depending on where you live depends on the value you get (obviously focused on SE Qld).

If you don’t live there or won’t be going to the Brisbane game &/or function I think the Born & Bred package is best for you where you get all of the inclusions inc. the cooler bag or scarf but no Brisbane tix/function.

Hi @The Wheel . It would also help if the membership section of the website was better laid out. I am sure this would put some people off from becoming members. I just had a look and it's a dog's breakfast. Everything is all over the place and it is very difficult to compare memberships and then go through and make a purchase. There should be a table which clearly compares all the memberships and prices. And if the format must stay the same then at least get rid of the per month pricing and state exactly what the price is per year for each membership on the membership packages page so at least then you could scroll down the page and compare prices for different memberships. And then it is not clear what you need to do (for game day memberships) after you click to 'Buy Now' and are taken to the TIcketmaster website to do the transaction.

Another Brookfail
What hasn’t been said about the $36 million redevelopment of Manly’s home ground, Lottoland, at Brookvale is that there is a huge amount of resistance from the football side of the club to actually using the new facility.


The reasons? Firstly, the Sea Eagles say there is absolutely no point to having a high-performance centre if there is not a field that they can use attached to the facility. The Eagles rent Lottoland (formerly Brookvale Oval) for game days at $40,000 a day. The ground is still used during the week by the public and we have all seen the poor quality of the turf.

The other argument is that they already have a centre of excellence at Narrabeen. There is a genuine fear the whole complex could be a multimillion-dollar white elephant.

They should find another million and replace the playing surface while they are at it.

Fresh details have emerged of the Manly Sea Eagles’ multimillion-dollar redevelopment of Brookvale Oval.

The club is preparing to submit a development application for the $36 million project which will include the building of a new grandstand and centre of excellence.

Prior to submitting the application the club must get approval of the landowner — Northern Beaches Council.

In a letter to the council, the club’s chief executive Lyall Gorman has outlined the plans.

He said the centre of excellence will feature an “elite level gym” along with medical and rehabilitation facilities.

There will also be an aquatic recovery facility, rehabilitation pools and altitude and heat training areas.

For pre-game meetings and post-game debriefs there will be a lecture theatre with meeting rooms and also player education facilities and study areas.

Mr Gorman said the centre of excellence would also help the club realise the ambition of having a women’s squad in the recently established WNRL competition.

He said there will be female friendly facilities including dedicated female change rooms, toilets and showers.

He also said there would be “consideration of privacy elements specific to female athletes” such as private access to rehab pools.

“The Sea Eagles are committed to developing a female team to participate in the recently established WNRL competition,” he said in the letter to council.

“In addition, the club is currently working with the Manly Warringah District Junior Rugby Football League to formalise a pathway for girls currently playing in junior competitions to progress to the elite ranks with their local elite rugby league club.

“In order to achieve these goals, the club understands the following actions need to be taken to foster the development of female rugby league on the northern beaches.”

Mr Gorman added that community education facilities would be central to the development.

He said to expect an amphitheatre with space for 80 people along with meeting rooms, education space and storage.

The new stand and centre of excellence will be at the northern end of the ground.
The grandstand, which will be fully covered, will have room for around 3,000 supporters

This will ending looking like that abomination Shark Park or whatever it's called nowadays, great grandstand behind the goalposts but SFA on either side of the ground.
At least they could make it look like a stadium and build where the hill is.
The hill has served it's purpose well, however as most games are played at night nowadays, it is now time to move into the 21st Century.

Longish hiatus, then:
Private boxes in the Southern Stand - 1990, with displaced seating re-installed in front of the JT; and
Ken Arthurson Stand 1995, plus new press boxes.

Another hiatus, then:
Corporate boxes at southern end of the JT in 2003, followed by more at the northern end and the electronic scoreboard in 2004;
TV standard lighting in 2006;
Replacement seating - 2009;
Upgraded facilities under the JT, plus new corporate facilities in the Arko - 2010;
Northerly extension to the JT - 2012/13;
New lift for the Arko, circa 2016; and
New scoreboard, 2018.

That is not a comprehensive list, but it gives a good idea that the place hasn’t stood still, despite sentiments expressed to the contrary.

Ok so they are spending the money on an elite level gym (have one at Narrabeen), med and rehab facilities (Narrabeen I believe), aquatic recovery centre (if they mean "pool" there is one at Narrabeen), altitude training (at the leagues club).

I'd rather they do the stands, create the offices and leave the sport related stuff out if it's all at Narrabeen already.

Those of you old enough will remember that the Hill was much higher, and even had a concrete walkway running east-west through it.
I understand that the Hill was reduced in height and the walkway demolished due to some structural concerns. That must have been in the late 1970s...
So, just bolster the foundations and give us greater height so we truly have a Hill, not a mound.
The Hill is the most iconic aspect of Brookie. Let's embrace it.
