I've made it pretty obvious numerous times that I am a big fan of Api...I look back to last year and some of the most enjoyable moments in an otherwise dour season where a stretch of 4 matches where we played an enterprising style off the back of Api's work around the ruck.

He made things happen and it was a joy to watch. He won't die wondering and he also throws himself at the opposition in defence which is inspiring.

Then you have Parcell who just dishes off and looks clueless to anything other than passing a football or running straight into the markers. He showed nothing last year to suggest that he is even a first grader.

How many games did we win because of Parcell last year? Zip. How many did we win because of Api? Probably 2-3.

We are asking who plays HOOKER next year, not who's more aggressive. Api is a very good player although his problem is that he is slow at passing and his delivery from dummy half is poor. Parcell is good in these areas and is a brilliant support player who himself is very solid in defence, quite underrated in that aspect. Parcell is the better HOOKER so Parcell should be in that position rd 1, as with api well he is better quality than brown as a utility so I dare say we use him as our utility (would cover less though with halves, hooker and probably anywhere in the backline if required)

Api is a utility and has value in that regard. As a specialist 9 he is either the worst in the NRL or very close to it.
Worst in the NRL? Lol u must have been watching someone else. There's a reason people praise Api such as sterlo and brandy and others. He is a good hooker and has proven that on so many occasions.

The guy CANNOT pass the football.

People wax lyrical about Matty Ballin and his contribution over our decade of dominance. Over that time Matty provided absolutely NOTHING in attack other than lovely crisp well timed passes to his playmakers and the results flowed from their due to his playmakers having time and space. THAT is why a precise passing game is a deal breaker.

I believe young Turbo you are a yiung aspiring footballer. Do yourself a service and study some video of the speed, width and timing of Jake Friends passing game(both left and right) and compare it to the schoolboy stuff dished up weekly by API. It is Friends standard that is required at elite level and he isn't even in the same ball park.

Koroisau, a hooker by trade, more than did Daly Cherry-Evans’ No. 7 jumper justice.

Manly coach Trent Barrett was happy for ‘’his tough little bugger’’.

“He’s a trier, he’s a hooker, and he’s only played four or five games there (at halfback) in his career,’’ Barrett said.

“To come out and do what he did in the game, he was tentative in the beginning ... I thought he did a great job. Dylan was in the same boat.’’

Koroisau was given the rare honour of being man of the match in a losing side.

Ok can we stop calling him a utility and a makeshift hooker now?

Some of you guys should check before making generalisations. Api was the hooker in Manly's wins as hooker on 5 occasions. Parcell was the hooker in Manly wins on 3 occasions. Api also in winning side once as 5/8 when Parcell was hooker. Parcell was hooker in wins against Cronulla, Sydney City and Warriors. Api was hooker for wins against Newcastle twice, St George, Souths and Warriors.

It should however be noted that Parcell was injured for many games and only played in the No 9 on 11 occasions, having been on the bench for 4 games. Api had the No 9 or No 6 on 17 occasions and once on the bench.

For me this is a very simple question. Parcell should be the only hooker in the starting 17. Plain and simple Api's service from half is horrible for a 'specialist' hooker. Brown should be the utility on the bench covering back row, centre and hooker.

My first reaction is Parcell.

When I then study it a bit further there are definitely pros and cons. But when I boil it down I see Api as the safer option, as he is a better defender and can do some good things. I see Parcell though as a game breaker with a lot more potential. He has lightning speed, can pass a ball, and seems fairly tough. Not sure yet on his tackling.

I still stick with Parcell as I believe he provides more attacking opportunities.

I just can't understand why it's even a question.

Some on here ask the question did we watch any games last year. My answer is yes. Every game. Every minute on a really big arse screen.

Objectively what did I see.

Forwards that got owned more often than not. Although they did get better.
An attack that would be akin to 13 headless chickens running about.it didn't get better.
And bloody Api continually passing behind the attack line making DCE check before taking the pass. Yes he's tough. Yes he has energy. Yes he's well liked but ffs he's not up to being a starting no.9
He can't pass from ground. His passing is sloppy and slow. NO NO NO NO!

Look I'm not sold on parcell either but give the kid a chance. No injuries and some game time and I think he will be great. He's zippy. Great at passing from low. And with a big bad mad forward pack going forward has the ability to cut the opposition to shreads.

Api played better at 6. Give him poo's utility bench spot.

I keep hearing he is a better defender, yet Parcell missed 1 tackle per game and Api missed around 4 per game (more than any other player in our team). Parcell made 36 tackles per game as opposed to 32 for Api. Api made a few big tackles and that is what people remember rather than seeing the full picture I think.

I must have been watching different games to you .... saw very little evidence of that !! a hooker needs to create not just be a support player

with DCE and Green marshalling the troops and on the back of a better forward pack hopefully 17 will be a different prospect.

I will end up throwing something at my nice new telly if Api goes to dummy half and has to stand up before passing behind the first receiver again and again and again.

I work in TV as a cameraman and was lucky to follow the aussie side around over here in UK for training and watch all the games. The one thing that stood out was how bloody good Cam smith is at his job. Dont get me wrong i dont like the storm SOB but the organisation and time he brings is just awesome.

Api isnt that man. Parcell with a lot of fine tuning and guidance could be. For me its case closed.

Api deserves a place on the bench utility but thats it.....
