Anyone else think...

V8 .... Four times Barrett has brought Hastings back into the squad and four times the place has blown up ...

It is time for people to stop blaming Barrett ... and start blaming Hastings for being an impossible little **** ... and for continually letting his coach and team down ... 4 ****ing times ...

**** the trouble making **** off to Azbekestan ......

Mate, regardless who is at fault, the fact is that this is supposed to be a professional sports team. Yet everyone including the coach is letting personality clashes and what not dictate who does and doesn't play. Makes it sound more like high school than the NRL.

There comes a time when you have to draw a line in the sand. For me that was yesterday when we (myself included) were more happy that we just had a dig than we were upset, pissed off, angry, whatever....about the fact that we lost another game.

This is the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. We breed winning. We're not wooden spoon losers like doesn't-fvcking-matta. Sure we did play better yesterday than we have done really since we thumped the Eels, but I am over this losing $hit. Injuries aside, we're being hampered for the 2nd time in his 3 years by Barrett's refusal to pick the best available side.

The issues seem to be a bit more than simple little personality clashes ...

So ... be angry at that little **** Hastings ..... Barrett HAS brought the **** into the team 4 times only to have the **** let him down again .. and you are correct someone had to draw a line in the sand and Barrett did ... NO MORE ****ING SOUP FOR YOU .. YOU **** HASTINGS!

Mate, if you're happy not to have our best team available picked each week and the results that come with that, then fine, be happy with it.

Doesn't mean I have to be.

I know there are issues surrounding Hastings and there are issues where we the fans will probably never know the full story. But again, this is a professional sports team. That crap should be left off the field, but its not being left off the field is it. Not only is the dirty laundry being aired in public on almost a daily basis, but its preventing us from fielding the best available side we have.

To steal a quote from The Karate Kid (yeah I've been watching a bit of Cobra Kai).....this is a karate dojo, not a knitting class. Its the same thing.

For a forum where so many say "everything should be put to one side and everyone just accept hastings" - the ignore list is certainly a much used feature.

You are correct ... it is a professional sports team ... and there is absolutely no place in it for someone that is a disruptive influence and stops the team from performing at there best ...

Hastings is not a victim here .... he is the living dead come to get us .....

Not an excuse Woodsie.
March 30 was the date
They knew who was available. No Green , Metcalf Fainu Cust Lussick available. And Barrett picked T Wright in the top 30 as a centre. That he said on a few occasions .

But we went with Croker and picked FUNA and JONO WRIGHT over them. And also over Anderson who was a far better option as an outside back.
Barrett made the bed and we are lying in it.Jono Wright ffs. Those guys are young but Funa and J Wright offered nothing to help where we were deficient.

Anyway what’s done is done Rant over. I’ll be at Suncorp as usual with the bogans hoping like hell again🙂

Not sure on your logic here but Jono Wright was 100% in the top squad last year as well and you cannot change a contract so unless we moved him on then he has to be top 30. Crocker was signed well before March 30 as well.

Basically I'm a supporter of Twenty however, if his refusal to pick Hastings is more about ego than form, which it appears to be, then Twenty is not coach material. You put your best team on the paddock, regardless of whether you like the bloke or not. If he is a disruption then why is he still in the club?

Same logic you use Fluffy when you say you can’t teach a bloke to kick after he becomes a first grader then try to give Barrett credit for giving Tom a crack at it.

Whichever way you slice it Barrett has chosen to go with a one kicker policy and a squad that has one genuine kicker in the top 30 other than a bloke he won’t pick. That is a fact. Even when Hastings played he didn’t kick. And there a plenty of other spots in the top 30 he could have replaced with kicking cover other than Wright.

As for putting Jono Wright in the squad in the first place that in itself suggests he has no idea. And even forgetting Wright he picked Funa over Fainu when we have zero half and hooker depth. Fainu has a great kick on him and bundles of talent.

It’s a bad roster selection whichever way you cut it.

I don't think the issue is whether or not Barrett likes him ..... Barrett gave him a lifeline when he was banished to Wyong by Robertson at Easts for being a goose and "not showing respect" ....

Barrett has dropped Hastings to Blacktown 3 times and brought him back 4 times ..has arranged for special councelling for him ... only to have Hastings let him down again and cause more problems with the team ... climaxing with the normally calm and decent DCE in a hotel dust up with him .... enough!

This matter has a history years in the making and has nothing to do with Barrett's ego .. Barrett's only failure that I can see was to try so hard to redeem Hastings ..

Any other coach would have thrown him to the wolves 12 months ago ...
