I think it was a brain dead performance.

Where was the control and patience in maintaining the lead in the 1st and 2nd half. schoolboy errors over and over.

Even one of my Parra mates said we imploded in the last 14 minutes with mistake after mistake.

The good sides taken control, minimize errors and score even more points to put sides to bed.
We don’t seem to have that ability and some don’t ( Suli ) have the desire to push themselves.

Yet we have kids like Cust playing on a half a leg putting in 110% effort just makes the lazy ones look worse.

Get rid of the pea hearts and nourish and develop the guys that put it on the line week after week.

Yeah Suli I had enough of, first looking like I’m caught in time warp for the try by knights before half time and the match winning try he needed to not come the numbers where there, he effort areas are very poor. Does not look for ball

the last 3 weeks we have given up a try in last 1.30 of the first half, have killed all momentum specially the last 2 games.

you may gusty yes from cust tank and keepie the rest no way in hell.

Played golf this arvo and watched the replay just now. Yes it was gutsy. However if we hadn’t dropped so much ball in that first half we would have been in a much better spot. The penalty count was atrocious again. We really can’t take a trick with the refs. Tge first try in the second half goes up no try. How the f### was there conclusive evidence to overrule that call? It clearly hit Parker off their player. DCE kicking game was beyond woeful. Sorry but his kick that gave them a 7 tackle set that led to their last try was unforgivable. He would have been better placed kicking it straight over the sideline for a scrum. Anyway, unless we win out frm now finals are over for us. Reality is we have too many out and nothing is going our way. Given the amount of players we have out, playing away, no luck at all, refs killing us, to think a 2pt loss v Newcastle is not gutsy is f***en crazy. If u feel it wasn’t I’d like to know what u think a gutsy performance looks like. Just means we must win next week and keep winning and hope like hell Newcastle, Souths and Cronulla lose.

I thought Newcastle were pretty avg today, we let them back in the game with giving away too many penalties and dropped ball in that first have. We should of gone on and put them away early but we're shocking for that last 30 mins first half.

Second have great character, loved it but simple missed tackles again cost us the 2 points.

Everyone keeps saying for DCE to try an attacking 5th tackle kick, I thought it was on and Garrick could of Sealed the game but the kick wasn't high enough so we gave away a 7 tackle set. But hasn't that been why DCE has not gone for many attacking kicks for the risk of exactly that? Cannot win. I thought it was on but not executed well. We needed more points, were not going to protect that lead, I knew Newcastle were a chance to score again with still 10 mins left.

Some days it works, some it doesn't. This year it seems just not happening in those tight games and we make it a lot harder on ourselves then we should. Not consistent for 80 mins

We should have won that game except for some basic schoolboy errors. It would have been gutsy, but we lost. To be fair i was expecting we would be towelled up, so i guess it's positive it was closer than i thought.

Not saying they are not trying... I am saying they are not good enough... the bulldogs are trying too but they dont have the quality to get the job done and unfortunately our team is more similar to the bulldogs than the storm atm...
I am not faulting the teams effort but you cannot continually achieve beyond the limitations of your ability...

To be fair, DCE just does not have a great bomb... Walkers bombs look awesome because they are so much better than Dalys... but neither hold a candle to Cleary or Moses who both get ice on them...

Everyone had an off day today from both sides kicking in the crazy strong wind.

It was not that great, agree. But was more frustrating watching the team just drop it cold in good field position on a lot of occasions, and we kept giving away dumb penalties! Gifting them field position and they were scoring off the back of it! Some of Sulis reads in defence were not great, and Jake's penalties are always killing any momentum we try and build

Most teams have worked out the the ball goes to Daly 80% of the time on the last and cut down his time with the ball. Now that we have Cust and Croker is on the field we need to mix things up a little to keep the opposition thinking and to create more time for all involved. Levi has shown that he is an option too on occasion.

A lot of the time our plays look to be rushed and ad-lib rather than following a plan. Communication and footy smarts are something that we need to be better at IMO.

In saying that, injuries and the chopping and changing of the team aren't helping. Surely Cust has shown enough to stick with him at 6 for the remainder of the season. When Walker comes back he either takes Parker"s spot or fills in for Tom at FB.

We need to be a smarter footy team cause at the moment, IMO, we play dumb. That has to include selections and use of our top 30.

I agree but at full strength we are good enough. This year is not our year unfortunately. I will keep cheering and not lose hope we can scrape into the 8 until it’s mathematically impossible. On to Souths next weekend.

Yes agree. Tge last kick was the icing on the cake. I luv dce always have but his kicking game in the 2nd half was awful. Paying a player what we pay him every bomb he puts up should be landing right on the goal line - even on a bad day. He kicked balls sideways today! It was cringeworthy.
