Just looking at the Full regular season table and can you believe we scored 744 points?

744 points scored is amazing.

All season have been looking at the F/A and because we started so poor in this first 4 rounds ( 151 points conceded it believe) its been good but not great but its only when you consider the amount of points scored that you realise just how lucky we have been this year to watch something quite special.

Now yes the Storm have over 800 and souths also just piped us but jeez we have done good.

Compare 2021 to our 2020 campaign of 375 scored and you can see just how much the squad has improved with the likes of Foran, saab, shoe and Guac just to name a few....

I stand and salute you boys. Bloody amazing to be siting in 4th. Awesome 👌

Remember this season silvertails. Regardless of how much further we go in this years competition we have been witness to something so special it will be talked about for decades to come.

If anyone has time can we get a ladder and for and against from Rd 5 onwards. I reckon we'd sit 2nd, just behind Storm who have had one of the best seasons on record.

Agree, from RD 4 onwards we’ve pretty much kept pace with the top 3.

l was thinking the other day, now that we’ve made the Top 4 ( on points diff) which to be honest no one expected what is everyone’s realistic expectations from here?

I don’t know how to set up a poll but interested to know.

Have we overachieved?
What if we go out in straight sets?

Thoughts?

From Rd 5
Storm 40
Panthers 36
Rabbits 36
Sea Eagles 34
Roosters 28
Eels 24

All my little Eagles were round at mine for Fathers Day, the consensus among the five of us was "wishing and hopeful for a Grand final berth this year, but more likely to win a gong next year" My youngest reckons we have to do a 2005 Tigers to get across the line this year.

The Cowgirls were big improvers, kudo's to Todd. The Dragqueens got worse as the season progressed, Warriors too. Barrett didn't do to bad, that end of season game must have given him a warm, safe (I've got a job) feeling. I bet Maguire doesn't feel warm and safe.

I would suspect if we looked at the games stats without tom we might be in bronco, cowboys and doggies territory

There are two scenarios I think.

1) we pull a rabbit out of the hat and win on Friday , do that and every chance we win the following game and play in the GF

2) but the more likely of the two is we lose Friday , then win the next game to progress to the GF qualifier , and possibly then have to beat the Panthers. We’d at least play three finals games and that experience for our young side would be immense.

I’m good with our young lads gaining some experience, but and it’s a big but, we don’t need to pull a rabbit out of the hat Mark, I’ve been beating this drum form months now, we can beat them, they are as beatable as they have been in a long time, we have the talent and the points to put the sword straight through them, it’s option 1 for me without the rabbit, we have this and I was stoked to hear Des say something similar, it’s time to get the self belief sky high, they are just another team standing between us and our end goal, we have this.

We are only the 6th best defensive team in the NRL

Souths who have had two 50 point drubbings have a better defensive record and a better attacking record.
Yet we have some people here saying Suli should be on the bench - that is laughable as he cannot defend. Attack is not our weakness.

We will not beat Melb 40 - 32 this weekend in who scores more points.
Manly need to be a lot better defensively. Only then will we have a chance to beat Melb.

So do you think making the GF qualifier from here is a pass mark?

I am hopeful that Des will have us primed for our best defensive performance of the year this weekend. There can be no excuses for laziness or complacency in that final.

Some of our players are very lazy especially when the ball gets turned back on the inside off a scrum or an inside ball back around the ruck, and that crap can't be allowed to happen against the Storm. And so help me if any of our players fall for a Jahrome Hughes dummy I am going to lose my mind.
