Another Sao?

Smokin Joe

Bencher
People have been asking for a second rower with more involvement in the hard yards dept. What about Sausao Sue from the Tigers? This guy has become a part time afterthought under Cleary at the Tigers(particularly of late)and the additions of Packer/Matulino/McQueen and resigning of Grant may have made him expendable for next year.187cm and 107 kgs (similar to Kite) and 25 yrs old,his best performances seem to have been in the second row or lock this year.He has ability to offload and is tough/athletic and is able to play long minutes...not an 80 minute player(at the moment) but a second rower does not have to play the full 80,you can play different styles in the backrow, but could probably play 80.Is it worth seeing if the Tigers want to let him go?

Whatever happened to our old Sao, Ligi? After finishing his 20's career, he played a season of first grade with us in 2015 (and wasn't bad IMO), then went back to the Warriors and has rarely been seen since.

Typical of another young promising player who didn't cut the mustard at NRL level

Manly don't need another hard running big unit. We need a hole running 2nd rower with a brain.

Lussick, Marty, AFB, Lawrence, Perritt, and the new kid kelepi. All big enough and can run hard in the middle.

In the 2nd row ...... the competition;

Souffs have Crichton who is the exact thing we need to complement Sirro. Sign him Bozo; he would even make your sons look good.
Storm have Harris
Broncos have Gillet
Cows have Hess
Sharks have Lewis
Rorters have Cordner
Riff have the alphabet we tried to sign CNH or something
Raiders have Elliot and papa
The slimey scrub eels have tepai

All big units (maybe not Lewis) but all good hole runners.

We have Winterstein the decoy, and Lane the trex junior.

Hard yards doesn't mean middle player, his best games have been when in the second row playing a bit wider,he runs hard like CHN but has more brains as he can offload and is just as athletic as a defender.Unless those clubs are going to release those players which is doubtful,we have to look at other options....He does not have to be a hole runner as an only option, someone who can hit the line wider and offload,or slip a pass before the line or break the line is just as useful as a hole runner.

Seems a similar type of player as Joe Galuvao , with maybe a bit more mobility . No reason why he would not be a quite handy pick up for Manly and at a suitable cap rate and then continues to maintain a professional and committed outlook .

I prefer Scotch Fingers.

They always break the wrong way when you're trying to snap them! Always!!!!!

Personally would love Sue, I've never thought he was takeable although with all those players the Tigers have brought in why not have a go at him. He would improve with the big forwards we've got, really underrated player

Speaking of Sao...(not that we actually were, but hey)... have noticed he is now playing a role similar to Jake, where he starts at 13 and plays that slightly more mobile middle game. Seems to be doing quite well at it, too. He stopped growing at about the same size as Jake too, so not massive for a prop, but decent size for a hard-running 13 (6'1", about 109kg). Seems to be getting good game time now, anyway. Good on him, I reckon...didn't do too bad a job for us that year, was just thrown in at the deep end in a team that seriously lacked a middle third...

Wasn't our old Sogs on the bench for the Warriors on the weekend?

Anyway back to this guy, I have no ish with Sue. He's a solid good lock/prop. Maybe we can call him Sausaodal Tendencies..?

Has played in every match for the Warriors this season. Warriors fans were spewing when Sao and Hiku left as they had major wraps on them from their time in the under 20's. Now both of them are back at the Warriors
