Despite what I just said to Stevo*, this thread covers some very personal and sensitive areas and I feel it's worth acknowledging that in the main it's been conducted in reasonably good spirit, from what I've seen anyway. I must say and correct me if I'm wrong, the term 'abbo' doesn't come across as overly racist to me.

It's a shorter version of their race. Like, Aussie for Australian, Lebo for a Lebanese man etc...

Much different to calling, for example, a Mexican a 'Wetback' or calling a Chinaman a 'Gook'

It's also in which way you use it. If someone is describing me and says "Adam the Aussie fella" it's ok. But "Hassan the dirty Leb" or "Adam that thong wearing Aussie c***" is also unsavory.

I do not judge anyone because I'm far from been a good Christian. But what I do know about god is that he does not like murder , hatred , stealing , violence etc but encourages good , respect , love for one another , peace.

We live in a world today that we must have proof to believe in something , and that is a fair and understanding way to feel.

But a Christian prefers to have faith over proof and shouldn't get shot down because of their decision.

Religion doesn't start wars , man does with their power trips & egos , they use religion as an excuse.
that's my view on the issue.

I also like to add this regarding the gay issue and I don't mean to offend.

Let's say that if every male today was put on one side of the world and every female on the other with no access to each other even say that we didn't know the other side existed whether each person was gay or straight how long would you say Human life would last for 80/90 years ??? I would say there would be something wrong with the human race if that was the case considering that society has constantly continued to breed our human race for hundreds of years even before Jesus when traditionally a man & woman get together. Therefore when I hear the word marriage and family I think of man & woman.
