I share your pain, Mick. That f**king Dragons game is still haunting me, too. The Sharks in Perth I could live with (just), but the fact that we out-ordinaried the Dragons at Brookvale will live in my nightmares for years.

I was not enchanted by magic round.
Had a short look at the Dogs game hoping they'd lose again, watched the Pennies v Broncos which showed the premiers can still play well on a given day.
And saw most of the Storm v Raiders. Storm lost it with indiscipline but Raiders are better than I thought, but will really need their star props and Fogarty to stay healthy though.
Pap's try from Faalogo's kick was incredible!

I may have missed something in the context but I thought Abdo said the bunker wasn't going back to previous plays...unless it was 'a serious infraction' - but then I read this:

On review (of the field goal), the Bunker found an elbow to the head of Raiders captain Joseph Topine by Storm lock Trent Loiero in a previous play when Melbourne had the ball. Papenhuyzen's one-pointer was overturned.

So it was the tackled played putting the elbow into the tacklers face. Ref didn't call a thing. I've seen those let go a lot in most matches, usually it's the other way round. The tackler does it to the ball carrier.
I've also seen them penalised as well (but not as often as they're let go).

I dunno....I just think for the bunker to over-rule the field goal on an innocuous elbow from a previous play is again, too much interference.

Once agin the Clunker, and an over-officious ref, managed a result rather than letting the players decide the outcome.
There is far too much nit-picking in NRL these days. The NRL should realise accidents happen, not every action is black-or-white, and what the eye can't detect in real time should not be ruled upon.
Let the match flow and it will be an even better spectacle.

No it’s not. I've met Kevvie a cpl times over the years at functions/sportsman events, and he is a really nice, sincere bloke to talk too. I am cringing now when hearing him trying to be the loud, yobbo, funny man commentator that they obviously want him to be. It’s just not his go.

Only time I watch Channel 9 is state of origin and grand finals, because I have to. Can’t stand Thurston, Smith, Fittler, Gallen. Lockyer I can put up with in small doses.

I've found that the members of the Judiciary seem so offended that they have to come in to do their work, that they very rarely let anyone off.

It's like they say: "The ref pinged ya, the mrc fined ya...what are you complaining to us for??"

The mrc and the judiciary are different 'panels of people' and so members of the mrc don't sit on the appeals panel.

I don't officially know the answer to the second question but I assume that they are independent of one another.
