If that's the benchmark for a Penalty Try then it should stand to reason that a lot of cynical offside plays when defending your line should be too.Interesting call.
I'm OK with it though. Without the checked run he probably scores no problem.
Still, he did get to the ball in more than enough time anyway.....![]()
How many times do we see a player race off the goal line way early and shut down a simple two on one because they were offside and knew it.
If they're not that far offside "in all probability" it's a simple catch, pass, try.
They don't call it though.
The one last night was minimal contact and he had ample time to take the ball and put in down yet he dropped it cold.
If the ball was on the ground and all he had to do was dive on it then l'd understand but those grabs/bumps happen multiple times a game yet aren't deemed penalty worthy.
The refs seem to have in their head Sin Bin or Penalty Try or nothing to see here.
In my opinion the bump wasn't significant enough to award the try.
Why not just award a Penalty?
