Aggro

As a non-expert my suggestion to get back in form is to turn up the aggro in defence. In fact, in both attack and defence, simply concentrate on running and tackling harder than the Warriors.

We haven't shown much 'intent' in defence of late. A couple of teams I can think of seem to rush into defence as though they actually cant wait to tackle the opposition! And sadly, the Eels are an example of that mentality and it seems to be carrying them a long way in this comp.

(and no, I don't want Lussick or Marty doing stupid head shots, that's not the type of aggro I'm referring to)

It's a simple game, maybe aggression is one of the fundamentals we've been lacking of late?

Have just spotted this same thought posted in some other threads so sorry for a new thread.
Hope we fire up this week and go in with an attitude of absolute ruthlessness!

The parasites example of rushing is a somewhat false image.
Some teams are allowed such latitude, some are not.
We would be in the 'are not' category.
The storm, broncos and the riff are others afforded such luxury.
We need more intent in what we do and play like we mean it but we are one side that always seems to have to tread carefully.

They have to be fit enough to sprint back the full 10 (so as not to get penalised) then sprint up again... for each tackle!
Must be pretty bloody demanding actually, which is why dropped balls, a penalty or 7 tackle set can screw you royally.

Yeah it would wreck a player.
That's why teams only use this method in certain situations.
But getting back the full 10 is the question.
I watched parramatta recently and they were in front of the referee each tackle of a rushing set.
I think it was the tigers game. Tigers couldn't get off their line and were pinged for something similar soon after.
As I said some other teams are in the same 'allowable' category but we would not be.
Nor would we be in the aggression stakes.
But at least we can play like we are fair dinkum and that's what I'm looking for in the next two games.

True that - Basics with energy will play you back to form
If you run harder - tackle harder - fight for all the 1% plays - you generally win.
First you need to own whats wrong to fix - this shoulder shrugging needs to be changed to direct answers, hopefully behind the scenes this is/has happened....

If we let the Bro's run at us on Sunday, it will be beyond ugly.

I fear for Brian Kelly if Solomona Kata is running at him. 🙁

The big blokes James Graham and Woods backed you on the fox footy show SER8.
To improve -
Manly need to run harder- tackle harder - Aggro !!

Won't Kelly will be marking Ayshford?
I can see both regularly getting past each other!
