Greenburg is totally wrong:
There is no "culture of blame" when teams lose - there is a massive problem with the system of the on field ref making a judgement (guess) that takes the right call out of The Bunker's grasp. It has to change.
Crowds are down. Why? Rothfield is right - fans, including me, a Jane Try season ticket holder is 100% over the amateurish approach of refereeing both on field and off.
Todd needs to step down and stop protecting Archer and The Bunker and respect and LISTEN to the coaches.
The Bunkers not working Todd - it's a farce, plus crowds are massively down and it's on your watch. Fix The Bunker, take a good look at why crowds attendance figures are down, or step down.

Todd Greenburg, during your tenure as NRL CEO we've seen clubs fall into administration, widespread dissatisfaction with the standard of referring, a failure to expand the comp, and falling crowd levels while the AFL and A-League have only grown. Where is that picture that featured here a couple of years ago of Toddy with his eyes half closed looking like a, well, circumscribed member. I always thought it was a very appropriate look.

The problems the NRL have are entirely of their own making. The bunker is simply showbiz. It serves little technical value unlike hawkeye in tennis and cricket. It is almost purely there for ramping up the excitement for fans. It detracts from clear referee decisions makes them tentative and weak, unable to make strong decisions. The current crisis is a direct result of bad management of on field decisions. No use Todd hitting out at Flanno and Trent. They are simply victims of the NRL'S woeful leadership in regard to refereeing.
