It's not a bad concept to stay in the field of play , there was a time when a player couldn't touch the corner post when scoring a try now look at players Aerobatics when scoring

Remember Mike Eden? He kicked with either feet, depending on the side of the field the attempt was from.
When it was from in front of the posts he asked the ref for a coin to flip ......

(that last bit was a fib)

Yep, never measure his step either, just turned, walked back, spun around and went bang, wasn’t the best of kickers in percentage terms but I always enjoyed watching his nonchalant approach on top of his ability to kick from either foot.
