9 YEAR THING 78 WIN! 9 YEARS LATER 87 WIN! ANOTHER 9 YEARS 96 WIN! ANOTHER 9 YEARS 2005 ? MAYBE JUST MAYBE
ALSO AFTER THE DOGS WON 95 US 96 THEM 2004 MAYBE US 2005

MAYBE AT THE END OF THE YEAR PEOPLE MIGHT REMEMBER THIS THREAD.
FOR THE RIGHT REASONS, FINGERS CROSSED

Yeah I remember the other stat. Dragons 62-63, Manly 72-73, Eels 82-83, Broncos 92-93, Roosters 02, and then people started talking about this trend in the lead up to the 03 Grand Final.

The only reason these things occur in the first place is because no-one knows about them, now you have said this Manly has no chance to continue this trend. Thanks bold eagle, you've ruined any chance we had  :naughty: ;) .

I posted the same thing about a year and a half ago on ME. Stranger things have happened, but the feel at the time is that it was unlikely, if not impossible. By the look at the poll on the left there are 43 people who see it as a possibility.

Do note that there was no Manly from 2000 - 2002 so that makes the 9 years 2008????

You need to go to a grand final in the last 2 years in order to win one

when did you become an optomist?

I have always agreed but the top teams are so close that I don't believe that any more. What kills a newby in to the finals is the week before the GF with all the media attention and the civic events. If you can have level headed senior players it is possible to overcome it. Like BK and Menzies in the forwards and Hill in the backs. Pressure on Monas & Witt may be the telling blow.
