In fact every one of these blokes starred in the first final win over Sharks....
Before a ball was kicked in 2019 they were unknowns, discards or looked destined for NSW Cup careers, now have a chance becoming absolute legends and in some cases, are already on the way.
Meet the 9 players -

* Elliott - A journey man who may have got a fill in role and has excelled.
* Parker - On 2018 form, not many gained confidence from him, he has changed this in a Massive way.
* Garrick - Who, some bloke in reserve grade for Illawarra - now a household name and only improving.
* Waddell - A young Penrith bloke looking for a run, now a full time Nrl player competing in finals footy.
* Goseiwski - Wiry Souths product let go who's energy has become a perfect fit at Manly.
* Olakau'atu - Green in terms of rugby league experience, now looks to be set a long NRL career.
* Keppie - Eels junior who Crusher got hold of and based on early games, most fans are glad he did.
* Perrett - Written off by most judges, shown great attitude and now has a chance to resurrect an NRL career.
* Suli - Talented youngster no club could control, until now....the kid could be anything and is now a key player.

This is 9 out of 17 playing on Friday and anyone would have thought it was beyond a joke with this side competing in Week 2 of finals, minus Tom T, Sirro and Thommo, but they are confident and look like they are in for the fight and the most important people believe in their ability to get the job done - Themselves !!

Already been a great effort and Super proud regardless of how Fridays game plays out, certainly far more confident now, than if I heard this was our 17 before the season started, meaning each 1 of these players has shown ability, belief and most importantly attitude.....again Des and the coaching staff deserve big wraps for where we are at, but noone deserves it more than these players representing the Maroon and White come Friday night !!

They were all admirable on Saturday, but as much as I hope I'm wrong there is no way Souths are going to lay over like Cronulla did. Sharks were soft and we dominated the middle so of course everyone looked good. Sharks missed over 40 tackles and completed sets at under 70%. The Titans would have given them a run for their money.

Friday will be the big test of whether they are heroes or not, as I can see the Bunnies being stiffer opposition. All we can ask is that they try their best, but I think the win on Saturday will give them some confidence and self belief.

Yep it will be a step up for sure but Marty back will help

Good assessment and just another example of the pleasing upside team and individual performance wise for the club in many ways this season [ hopefully more to come of course ] Then there has been Sipley "s improved form Boyle shaping up well , Cust having a reasonable break out season , Croker was going well in the early stages , a few very promising juniors emerging also Looks like the 9 that you have mentioned here also are all in the right mind set and prepared to have a red hot go to keep their winning run going ..

The important thing is this understrength Team has fought for the next finals game and discounted all the excuses for losing

The Sharks missed 40 tackles coz our boys outmuscled them!! They had no answers. Because we didn’t allow them to play any better. When our boys are on there is no team that can get on top of us!

Great post @maxta . You've been on fire lately mate. Keep them coming.

I say go after Burgess. Hes a loose cannon and while hes a superstar the grey matter can go missing pretty quickly.

Jet Jorge to put a massive hit on his brother and let the Burgess disintegration begin.
