Those that are happy to accept mediocrity are destined to live with it for all time. Me, I accept winning, anything less is failure.

Short term pain, long term gain

We have 2 options
1. Accept a little pain for long term survival
2. Lets go all out and go over the salary cap and come last (the dreaded wooden spoon)

1st option for me. We've now given Hoppa Jnr and the like experience at top grade and they know they can play there it's only a matter of time until we reap the benefit's. A prime example of this is look at the Canberra Raiders and the New Zealand Warriors who's young players are playing great football no matter how you lookat it.

Does that mean you consider Manly have been failures for the last 60 years, with the exception of 7 winning years? You must go through life feeling like a failure.

We all want victory, but it is obvious that it takes time to build up to premiership success, and even when a strategy is on track factors such as injury, dud calls, etc, can derail even the best laid plans.

I was cheered by our full-on approach in the very first game against the Tigers, even though at the death we lost. I think our season has followed that pattern in some ways, with heaps of guts and effort but not always the desired outcome. Don't forget apart from cruel luck with injury we have also realistically had 2 wins stolen from us by officials. So whatever happens from here I won't consider this year a failure.

Will any of us here be happy or satisfied when we are bundled out of the premiership race either today, next week or whenever????? I certainly wont be I will be gutted and so will the players and coaching staff and everyone associated with Manly Sea Eagles.

I hope Lowey is using his "connections" in NZ, and attaining us some of those Kiwi NYC boys...even for our NYC team.....or do we only have a revolving door that swings one way in Manly these days?

Their number 14, dead set could play as our 1st grade 14 next year. Nafe Seluini is his name, and he is a dead set pocket rocket (almost better than Le'Strange), and that is something we horribly missed this year - that spark off the bench.

Him, then Rose coming out looking as fit and lean as ever, as well as Brett and Wolfie back....
