Only 4 months away (back so soon) from the annual silly season. Player negotiations and signings. Jot down a few players you would like to see manly approach and perhaps sign this season?

Mine are two boys from Melbourne. Billy Slater, Matt Orford, although highly unlikley, both will come at a premium price.

good question.
Previously i would have liked to have orford back, but I think monas is doing very well and growing into a good half back.
Dunley has shown him self as a great hooker and we have Randall and Balling nipping at his tail for the spot so there is plenty of backup s and time left.

As for slater any team would want him there, but brett is just as good for mine, and you seperate billy from Ordord he loses a bit of his effectiveness.

In my opinion we need to work on outside backs and also keep adding to our forward pack, once BK goes we need similar maturity and experience there to keep the pack going forward.

I would honestly look at some of the top quality forwards ont eh amrket as well as a few outside backs.

Hill will be gone and snagging someone like Cross would be good

Good point Daniel - beaver and BK will both probably retire at the end of next season so a good back up to them would be required.

My thinking is that Jamie Lyon will be the blue chip back at the end of 2006 so a top line forward maybe the target this year.

Who is on the market.

I would love to see shrek back in the maroon and white.
SBW maybe but I would prefer older heads.

Shrek would be my target if he is on the market

Im pretty sure he signed another 2 year deal last season with the bulldogs. However, I would also like to see a forward take the place that is currently being choped and changed between Harris and King. I dont feel they fit the new mould so well.

Volley

Bencher
No doubt Slater would. But would he like to play there, and how does his defence hold up? King would be cheaper, and is a specialist.

Good point volley slater is a fullback at heart and i wouldn't want to scrap stewart from his pet position whilst showing so much promise. King is great player too!

Matt King should be our number 1 target.

On the footy show on sunday they put up some prices next to players - orford was 400K but King was jsut 180K - an absolute bargain considering where we are and what we need.

I could also live happily with slater on the wing and Hicks as a centre although i prefer hicks on the wing.

imagine stewart, donald, king, hicks , slater , witt, monahan as your backline - what speed

I dont want any over valued pretty boys like SBW. Keep Monas he will be very well established with Manly by the end of the year.

Can anyone get hold of a list of off contract players?

Slater isn't off contract..... re-signed a 2 or 3 year deal last year.

Matt King and Jason Cayless are the two blokes I would love to see at the club. King will strengthen our 3/4 line big time and Cayless will add another element to our pack.

I think re-signing Monas, Kylie and Hecks is crucial. I don't know how correct this list is either.

Berrigan might be worth a look so to Lolesi

For forward depth; O'Hara

It should be mentioned that Matt King actually played junior rep footy for manly when his brother was playing first grade (Andrew King - fullback in late 90s).

Stevie

Billy Slater is the Phil Blake Of our Era , and we know what happened to him , Brett Stewarts Defence is better than Hunt & Slater , Matt King Ran around Hunt like he wasnt even there , I also agree after watching that Bronco's Game That Lockyers & Tates Defence is nearly as bad as Walker & Hodges from last year

Fluffy

I would like to see ashley harrison or steve southern.
