2026 recruitment & retention

I can just see the next two Seibold/Mestrov money ball signings.

Cartwright and Matterson from Parra who are languishing in NSW grade.

up and coming young forwards? Nah,short term money ball signings.

So Tino has clauses in his contract meaning he can leave at the end of 26.

He is the one, forget Haas, get Tommy and Jake to downgrade, dont resign Croker and Brown and bring in Tino.

Optimistic I know but do what you can.
If Willie Mason is to be trusted (definitely not), we should have similar money to what the Titans are paying him.

The only catch is the length of the contract... However, given the "10-year" Dylan Brown deal, is actually an 8-year deal, with a further two year option in the club's favour, I imagine there are other clauses/limitations to the Tino contract. Might put him a bit closer than we expect.

That said, I can't see him leaving the Titans, or Queensland for that matter.

I would love hass or Carrigan, have a prop rotation of hass/carrigan, paseka, aloia and Jake.
Got the feeling Carrigan wasn’t happy playing up front, went back to 13 last week, seemed to work a treat, Jensen is more your out and our prop, Herthrinton back in the rotation. In saying that, I’d kill to have him as our third middle, we just need players with a genuine work ethic, big minute motors and good mobility, will also help a lot if there not over 30.

You can only ask the question Brookie - you gave it a red hot crack mate
Speaking of Brookie
Seibold has us Locked in with Brookie and Forgaty who turns 32 year of age at the end of the season
You can also add to the Seibold spine his preferred starting hooker Croker
and The Seibold Manly Ball will keep rolling along as usual

I hope every one is excited for 2026
We can not wait for another Mestrov/ Seibold preseason series of The Manly Way to inspire us once again.

Recruitment these days is all about helping your players make lots off $$ outside the salary cap. I know we're all thinking Roosters at this point, but the Broncos have managed this very well (and Brisvegas increasing property prices are helping): How NRL stars are banking an off-field fortune - realestate.com.au
Think out Canterbury way there's a few good accountants also....maybe Manly need to borrow 1 to sign 1 -2 decent players, rather than a punt on 37 year olds in their twilight....
In saying that,we do have 1-2 good "young' Front rowers eligible for 2026 and some exciting young backs with speed to burn, but still need some hard edged forward leaders, to build the backbone for a rubbery inconsistent side ... well that's the dream ...

Staggs is strong and robust. Rep quality when he is firing. Don't shoot me down.... but id take him at centre over garrick
I would too, could we be moving someone on?……would seem like a long shot……maybe Talau is not a sure thing, seems really odd if we are just adding him and spending another 500? to boost our backline.
