Matterson even at this stage of his career is an upgrade on Waddell as a bench forward that can cover both the edge/middle, and would probably be an upgrade on Burbo in the starting side as well. If we can get him cheap for the rest of this year with his brother here I don't know why we wouldn't, it's not like we are brimming with backrow depth and you generally don't get the chance to improve your roster mid-season. Get it done IMO.

I’m fairly sure the Japanese Rugby competition Manu is in ends this month. I think they want to dump Dom Young & pick up Manu this season. Guess we’ll see

Well smith is on 850k a season and Dom young is on 500k. DCE will be on around 1mil (according to James hooper) so how much would manu be on? It would be a big number I’m guessing. Their cap will be tighter than it is now

I don’t know the details of their cap but what I think is releasing cheese & Young for the rest of the season would open up at least $500k which would be enough to get Manu for half a year. Manu + Sam Walker back & they are a serious chance for finals again this season, next year I’m sure they’d have to move some pieces to keep Manu unless he spends half the year in Japan again

Manu has already signed with a French Rugby side, Racing 92 after his Japan rugby stint so he will have to ask a release from them before he could return to the NRL. Knowing that contracts do not mean that much nowdays could be a NRL comeback.

Dorahy gone after two seasons, the first heavily interrupted by injury.

Boyd suspended out of the game in mid-1984, straight after coming back from a 12 month suspension.

Yeah, yet we got pinged for not being "arms length" enough in arranging some TPAs. Meanwhile the Roosters are making an open mockery of the system and the NRL is sitting on its hands.
