2026 recruitment & retention

Are you sure you’re talking about the right Milne?Because Taane Milne is a centre/winger and is one of the biggest grubs/cheap shot merchants in the game
Apparently he had more off loads in 24 than any other player.

I'm sure our Stats men will tell us if that's slightly wrong. It is a Surprising stat for a back that's for sure.

The game below is admittedly against reserve grade standard.

But he looked better in the forwards on an edge than in the backs. He'd be worth playing in ressies and giving him a go as a mobile off loading forward.

Finished the game playing in the middle.

And a dead set gronk to boot.

But I'd imagine the banter about planes is because he's heading to the UK.

Indeed he was.

For reference our best was Tom with 28.

This Ben Hunt situation is interesting. Now reported the Broncos are favoured to sign him there could be a ripple effect occurring as a result.
Brisbane have to make some hard choices to keep their squad together. Now with Hunt in the mix they will have to offload a quality player or 2.

Hugo Hart on a train and trial deal for 2025, was one of the standout players for Nudgee College this year.

6. Hugo Hart (Nudgee)

Hugo Hart’s speed and handling gave Nudgee an extra back, whether as a support player or finisher, but he was also a primary forward with his leg drive in contact that ensured Nudgee always had momentum at the breakdown when he tucked the ball under his arm.

The quickest forward in the competition, he was also a line out option.

Interesting signing and to be thrown straight into pre season at such a young age.

Got to get things done to Make Manly Great Again.
A Beautiful day begins with a Beautiful Manly Mindset

What a Inspirational Breathtaking Attitude you have feathered friend

That is the most Beautiful post I read today about Getting things Done
and Making Manly Great Again

We still have to pay Schuster $600k or so to honour his departure. Is it possible we are trying to pay this all off this coming season?

With DCE likely to go around again 2026, I see a world where he takes a big pay cut and Schuster money is clear for one last premiership push before retirement.

All our signings this off season have all been money ball type signings on min contracts.
With the cap increase and some departing players it’s hard to know why we haven’t made any significant signings.

Paying off the Schuster contract all this year could be the reason why.

Would love some transparency from clubs regarding cap space like they do in the NBA. The NRL and media would make a killing with the content around this.

Two emerging teenage halves and a former Canterbury forward headline the list at Manly. The Sea Eagles had to fend off NRL and rugby union rivals to land Onitoni Large, who was one of the most highly-prized emerging talents in either code. The Wests Tigers were disappointed to lose the Junior Wallabies skipper. Queensland teenager Tyler Melrose has also been given a chance to shine in the pre-season while Bulldogs forward Chris Patolo has played 28 games in the NRL over the past three seasons with the Bulldogs.

TRAIN AND TRIAL SQUAD: Zane Dunford, Navren Willett, Chris Patolo, Onitoni Large, Jacob Sykes, Tyler Melrose, Kylan Mafoa, Hugo Hart, Devante Mihinui, Max Haley, Broden Konz
